Captain Marvel and Kong: Skull Island star Brie Larson has proven time and time again that she's a fan of Nintendo's work - she once suggested that she'd like to make a Metroid movie and was even spotted fangirling over Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser - and that trend is now continuing with the upcoming release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Yes, just like all of us regular, non-celebrity folk, Larson seems to be super-excited for our next dose of cuteness on Nintendo Switch. Over the past couple of months, she's been pretty regularly tweeting about the game and its characters, including these posts below:
Our favourite pick of the bunch, though, is this. Twitter user @tessaracts shared a thread of images showing Larson next to a number of Animal Crossing characters doing the same pose or wearing similar clothes. They aren't all perfect, but some - especially the last one - are pretty great.
If you're reading, Brie, welcome to the club! Only 17 days to go until we can finally get our hands on it.

Excitement mounts for many!!
... this puts me in a rough spot as I don't care for her much but I appreciate her enthusiasm for animal crossing.
I guess we are low on news huh?
Surprisingly I wasn't following her on twitter, must see her enough on IG, so now I am.
I was JUST about to type - Suprised no one has written "slow news day" yet when Zuljaras post popped up. 🤣
Eww brie Larson.
Well I guess that she means she only played an emotionless brick of a character with all the pleasantness of a flaming arrow with an overdue tax bill attached, rather than actually being one. Still, being able to pull that off is a skill unto itself.
Get outta here Brie. I'm betting her town will be missing many of the toxic male villagers that populate the game. Just a hunch
@Pichuka97 Dear god. Your comment is so lame it hurts.
@Pichuka97 I agree with @chancein421
@Pichuka97 dude... really? It’s 2020 already. Get over it.
This warms my heart to see
Lol nice to see all the manchildren hurt at the fact Brie Larson likes the same games they do. It’s literally 2020, maybe time to let it go?
Not related to animal crossing but related to brie larson.
Not gonna lie, I was expecting captain marvel to suck majorly but in the end I really liked it. Brie larson’s performance was okay but that was mainly due to her character being badly written, not her. But everything else about the movie was good. Not phase 2 or phase 3 good, But phase 1 good. Really liked nick fury and the skrulls.
The fact that I'm a white dude and that she likes Animal Crossing leads me to a state of ambivalence..... oh well, still don't like her attitude, but it shows that nobody's just a bad person
The question I'm left with now is, "is she hyped for Doom Eternal?".
This is another one of those posts where hardcore conservatives will let themselves be known.
You know it's a slow news day when we get celebrity news on NintendoLife.
Also y'all realize that Brie Larson has played characters that aren't Captain Marvel, right? She's just excited for the new game. You know, like you. Chill.
@Crockin
"This is another one of those posts where hardcore conservatives will let themselves be known."
As well as hardcore lefties will be offended right?
@Zuljaras Brie Larson is quite well known for being an active advocate for sexual violence survivors, among many other accolades. So no, I do not think that her being excited for animal crossing would be offensive to the left
@Crockin It is all about fame. I do not believe she even cares. She just need the rating like all those Hollywood stars at the Oscars.
Also I meant that the lefties will rush to defend her like she needs protecting otherwise why even bother right?
@Savino
Well, to be fair, I agree with you and want to see total equality
BUT I can't agree with radical feminism. Over here, it has toxicated the society because, as they stated: men can't be changed and are animals. I can't support that, especially how it's not about equality anymore but what sex dominates the most and unfair competition. Women shouldn't dominate men either and your carreer/ social capital should be determined by your achievements, not by that the little list says we need to be excatly 25% men/women/blacks/homosexuals etc. My point of view is that equality isn't a free ticket but a fair opportunity.
so yea, I'm all in for equality but not "freeloaders"
Who cares what Brie Larson thinks.
Woot! Sounds like she is really excited for the game. Counting down the days!
This is neat I guess...
Good lord, she's a young woman who happens to like AC and acts in movies. Folks that get all wrapped up in her political views--in which it's OKAY to have a strong opinion--need to put down the pitchforks and just enjoy the silliness that a new AC release brings. Larson's "one of you" in that area, if not others. Good grief.
I do not like her as a person for her far left views but I appreciate her excitement for the game.
Looking forward to playing it.
Can't blame her, this is gonna be the greatest game to ever be made. Nintendo developers just can't be stoop6ed, they are the gods of gaming.
While I think Brie Larson is foul, it's cool seeing how much everyone loves Animal Crossing.
This almost makes me not want to buy the game.
ITT:
Grown men who own Nintendo plushies are criticizing Brie for her thoughts on "toxic masculinity". Don't worry, she isn't talking about you.
That said, she is an absolute bore on screen and seems devoid of any personality whatsoever.
NLife makes post on Brie Larson
Oh yeah, the politics are already on copy/paste levels.
Here is a tip; It's no shocker that even horrible people like games. I know... Might jot that down.
@Crockin Just because people don't like someone who is a hardcore activist on the far left doesn't mean they are on the far right. The world doesn't work in extremes, people can be middle grounded. The thing about being really politically hardcore is that you will find a lot of people disagreeing with you.
@Zuljaras It is possible that people use their voice for something good, with pure intentions. Just pointing out that this site is overwhelmingly conservative, and will find a way to criticize her for one thing or another; mostly rooted in a deep-seated aggression towards women. If it was keanu reeves or robert downey jr or someone like that, the comment section would be very different
Woo, Me too, cant wait to ruin my social life one more time
@JayJ Would you not consider a person who condemns someone for being 1)an advocate for survivors and victims and 2)a woman, an extreme rightist? If there is dislike for Brie Larson from men that isn't rooted in sexism, I would be interested to hear it.
@Crockin Probably because those 2 actors are not activists? Nobody like activists except activists themselves.
They are likable because they are not hate machines.
It is THAT simple.
I must not be caught up on my issues of “Get Mad Monthly”, because I don’t know what the negative fuss is about a celeb being excited to play a new game.
That’s not an invite, I don’t care to know why folks are mad about something that doesn’t impact them.
@Zuljaras @JayJ also, if you were middle grounded surely you'd be moving towards total ambivalence regarding her comment, as opposed to actively disliking it...?
@Zuljaras what about Brie Larson is hateful, who is she threatening, and why is what she advocates for so bad that many here think she is trash? What is the root of that?
@AhabSpampurse Exactly. Masquerading as balanced free thinkers, but very clearly are aggressors towards woman
@HobbitGamer - They're mostly mad because her acting "skillz" kind of... swandived a character that was (apparently) well liked. Then said celebrity hid behind her politics, which served her well cause hating her now is evil right wing sexism and conservatism, which is deplorable on the net.
She acts like a plank of wood, but she hasn't damaged any of my movies yet, soooooo...
@Zuljaras RDJ is actually on the board for the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, which works towards criminal justice reform and reduced incarceration, and improved lives for the formerly incarcerated. I get what you're trying to say, but I feel it's a bit dismissive of his efforts to say he's not an activist.
Marks out of two?
@Crockin She is asking for equality when we already have it in the developed countries. You can't get more equal than others.
Okay lets stop the politic talk here. I only answered to you because you brought up conservatives.
@kenyowa Never saw it on the media. And that is what I am asking of actors. To act in movies not act in real life about things they know nothing about.
@Zuljaras That is definitely not true, but yes, you are free to leave the convo at any time.
@Zuljaras Already have equality in the developed countries? Wow dude come on, the gender pay gap in the UK is 17.9% and in the US it’s roughly 19%. That is not equality, whatever way you slice it.
@AhabSpampurse - This is a curious statement: Are you saying those in the middle should have no opinions?
@nessisonett How is that determined? Most contracts here are made in a way that you say what salary you want. I know women who are better payed in the same company in the same position. And I am talking about the IT sphere where it is dominated by men.
Instead of complaining about some pay gap maybe they should put more effort in their work?
@Paraka No, he's saying if you are middle grounded you'd be moving towards total ambivalence regarding her comment, as opposed to actively disliking it. (i just copied and pasted, because it can't really be made clearer than that)
@Zuljaras Lol you are so lost at sea
@Crockin "lol" as much as you want. I am not the one who is complaining about invisible privilege, inequality etc. It seems that your fictional world is hell not mine.
@Zuljaras So you’re saying women should work harder instead of complaining that junior doctors here in the UK are paid less than their male counterparts? Equality doesn’t mean that since women don’t have to cover their faces, everything’s ok. Equality means equality in every sense of the word, which has not happened.
@Crockin You seem to be presenting an opinion that tells me how you must be aligned with her agenda. Good for you I guess but that doesn't give you a right to name call everyone who doesn't like her.
@nessisonett And how do you measure it? Not everyone have equal skills so it is difficult to measure the pay. Some people work harder and stay late at work and they should be payed more.
I have seen this at my work space. Not everyone should be payed the same as the person next to him/her just because they are at the same position.
Man you can't have different political opinions these days without being attack and chastised for doing anything. (Whether from the Left or the Right) Can we not just respectfully disagree with people?
@AhabSpampurse Being middle grounded doesn't mean you can't have an opinion. Quite the contrary, you can be middle-left or middle-right, it is just ridiculous to demand that people should have no opinion in order to be moderate, and I commonly see that coming from people who tend to fall on the hardcore ends of politics. It's like you expect everyone to fall in line with your agenda or how dare they, they must be the enemy.
@kenyowa
'Slow news day' is a running theme for the video game industry as a whole so far this year. Fortunately things were livened up a bit yesterday with the FF VII remake demo dropping out of nowhere but aside from that, very quiet thus far.
As per all the slow news day comments...why yes, it must be a slow day if ya got time to comment too XD XP
@Zuljaras I don’t usually like to get into politics here on NL, but I have to correct you there, since we do NOT have equality in the vast majority of developed countries. The gender pay gap in UK workplaces averages at 17%; women are considered less reliable/desirable employees because of the possibility that they might one day get pregnant and are frequently lobbied by their managers to quit their jobs once they do have a child, and around 20% of us (versus 4% of the men) face dealing with a sexual assault during our lifetime, and are often blamed for it. What, of all this, sounds fair or equal to you?
On a separate note, while I have not watched Captain Marvel and do not keep up with celebrity news - and thus cannot comment on her acting skills or political agenda - it’s really cool to see someone famous getting excited for AC. Only 17 days to go!
Edit: fixed some weird capitalisations.
@JayJ Not an activist, but I definitely am not annoyed by someone for being one, especially if the cause good or progressive. Why would that bug me? Also, 'aggressor' and 'conservative' are not name calling. It is what it is
@Crockin The fact that you consider everything she says good speaks volumes about your political biases.
Also endorsing the "if you aren't with me you are against me" mentality doesn't say anything good about your approach towards political differences.
@Zuljaras Stop digging a bigger hole for yourself, even conservatives admit the vast inequalities in our society. Even given hard evidence you wouldn’t change your stance, which means either you have flat-earther delusion levels or have biases against women.
@darkswabber it’s important to note that Captain Marvel is meant to be a character with very little emotion due to her Kree blood. That’s just how Kree are. A lot of movie fans that don’t read the comic books think that it was a flaw of Brie’s acting or the script, but it was intentional given she is part Kree.
That being said, I thought CM was alright but didn’t love it, primarily because I feel the character is too overpowered (similar to why I don’t like Superman). Once she comes into her full powers, it all becomes a curb stomp battle, and to see an interesting fight from CM requires a villain at least as strong as Thanos, if not stronger. At some point of the movie, she can just shred her opponents like tissue paper, and that’s an issue I have with the character in general, not the actress or the story.
As for political discussions here, what’s the point? Nobody is going to change anyone’s mind here, if you feel that much animosity towards Brie Larson then just move on with your life and don’t waste time commenting here. I, for one, am glad for any human beings who shares my hype for this upcoming game. The entire point of these sort of social games is to bring people together!
@nessisonett I see some numbers about UK and that is sad indeed but as @Jooles_95 explained there are some factor to consider in that.
I have heard people sign contracts about NOT getting pregnant in the next 2 years in order to secure their job because it is common practice here to start a job and immediately to get pregnant in order to get pay for the next 2 years and not go to work. I even know one person that managed that for 4 years. Really silly stuff.
You don't have to be so aggressive. I know it is hard for you as well seeing your history of coming out but not every one is out there to get you. You just see some numbers but do you have some personal experience to back it up? I have.
I have seen women promoted faster than men because they are better than them. My current boss is a woman and she in the company way later than some major programmers that also wanted to be promoted. If you are good at something you will get there. No bias, no agenda etc.
@JayJ Good! Yes, I am definitely politically biased when it comes to equality for women, lgbtq, and any minority group that doesn't have the same privileges or opportunities as straight white men. As far my beliefs go, I don't sit in the middle begging for one side or the other to convince my superior mind that their team is right about something
@Zuljaras Surprise surprise how the people who are getting really defensive about her in this comments section seem to be pushing her political agenda. Activists are the only people who can stand themselves.
@Crockin Well as a bisexual man I am clearly all for equality, but that doesn't mean I need to guzzle down the kool-aid she is selling. In fact I find it offensive when people assume I must agree with people like her. What do you know about the challenges I face and the opinions that I hold? Opposing an extremist doesn't make you some far out there person on the opposite side, only wannabe dictators work like that. Being moderate doesn't mean you are incapable of having an opinion, it usually means you just don't fall into extremes. You really need to get over yourself.
It’s that quiet, huh? NL is really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this “news”.
@JayJ I never mentioned you not being entitled to an opinion. You are completely correct in saying you are entitled to one. Enjoy your opinion, brother.
But I'd encourage you to look up ambivalence. It means to have mixed, or contradictory ideas about something.
And whilst I'm endeavouring to be respectful to your opinion; you don't appear to be in conflict. You've categorically stated that you now feel compelled to not buy the game, simply because some random celebrity has stated she likes it. That's a pretty strong opinion.
Bearing in mind, and correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm guessing you've never met Brie Larson, so you probably have been given a very specific view of her thoughts and opinions through media. I'd also highlight that outside of seeing a few movies with her in, I know nothing about her agenda or political orientation, so I'm not advocating or supporting her views in any capacity.
But if you feel your purchases need to be influenced by her outburst, that's entirely your prerogative. I wouldn't try selling that as a balanced, middling view though. Because it really isn't.
@Crockin - So you're not actively allowed to have a strong opinion on things if you're middle ground?
It's not about having a strong opinion of one thing and a strong option of another in the opposite spectrum, and thus more center is where most of your compensations land?
@JayJ you don't need to, I'm just having trouble seeing what that kool aid is....that would imply there is some kind of nefarious intention behind what she does. We can go around and around all day probably, I'm just saying there is definitely something at the heart of why conservatives/right leaning centrists feel threatened by what she advocates.
Where was this fun Brie Larson when she was promoting Captain Marvel?
I sent her my friend code, why isn't she responding?
@Crockin I am sure a lot of conservatives are opposed to her, but being someone who is on the extreme end of politics there is also going to be no shortage of more middle grounded people who disagree with people like you and her. The fact that you seem to be incapable of seeing any extremism in her tells me how you must be as politically hardcore as she is. Good for you I guess, I can't tell you how to think but at the same time you really need to learn how to be more tolerant of people with contrary opinions.
@ecco6t9 Or actually in Cptn Marvel
Yes, sexism is a bad thing. Yes, there are a lot of places in the world where women and minority groups are treated unfairly. But the problem I have with modern feminists such as Larson is their definition of "sexism" and their inability to actually make any changes that matter.
We live in a world where a guy spreading his legs while sitting on a subway is considered sexist, which to me is astonishingly stupid. There are women dying every day to their abusive husbands in the Middle East, but western feminists are more concerned with cancelling a slightly suggestive Transformers toy (yes, that happened).
That's not even to mention the horrors done to the entertainment industry. It's cool to give women and minorities figures to look up to, but it's not cool to degrade and antagonize white people and men in the process. It's also not cool to change pre-established characters to fit the agenda you're trying to push.
When fighting sexism, the slogan shouldn't be "Woman good, man bad", that in it of itself is sexist. It should be "Woman good, man just as good", that's what gender equality is.
@Paraka middle ground would imply you do not have many strong opinions on either side. I know that on paper, a completely middle of the road, unbiased stance on political issues sounds logical, but it really just means you don't have enough information to form an opinion. The same can be said about those on either side as well. people who keep themselves informed on a wide variety of subjects don't operate that way, and generally lean one way or the other
@AhabSpampurse Let me make this very clear: you do not know me and you do not know my politics. I do not go here to push politics or my political opinion, that would just be disrespectful towards the users and this site. This is supposed to be a gaming site, not a platform for virtue signaling your politics while insulting everyone else.
@Anti-Matter I just want to thank you for having the most topic-related and least-politicized comment in this entire thread. The thread as a whole is a trainwreck, but at least I learned something from your comment.
@Crockin You clearly do not know what it means to be moderate.
Not sure why someone so wooden would like a game about chopping down trees.
@JayJ I do know what a true moderate is, but generally when someone says they are moderate, it is a veiled way of saying they lean right.
She would make an awful awful Samus
@JayJ Jolly good. That first sentence applies to me too. I've shown no preference to either side in our discussion, all I've done is ask you a question.
If you do believe I've tried to peddle my own politics, virtue signal, or insult you with my comments however, I apologise in advance and I'd encourage you to re-read. If anything I've just tried my best to be ambivalent. Have a good one.
@Crockin - I would not say it's reliant on information, or lack of. Most often times I have seen it with lack of impact.
For instance; Brie Larson. I don't like her acting, it's rigid and emotionless. And this is coming from a person unaffected by the whole Capt. Marvel debacle. I also do not like her hiding behind her politics when people criticized her acting (which I have seen). It's unbecoming when that's a thing. I can say it's all well and good she fights for equalities of the sexes, but it's cowardly to hide with it when those critics can be shut up by proving she took criticism and turned it around to her own success. The sequel is happening with her regardless, and she can show improvement of her acting ability and I might go see it.
Now I never watched C. Marvel, so my impact with her is... Well, minimal. So honestly I am middle ground with her, but I would be lying if I didn't do my research on her after being called sexist for not simply liking her and becoming aware of... Whatever this slogfest is.
@AhabSpampurse Crikey, guv. That was mighty sportin' of ya.
i don't think anything involving brie larson should be posted on a nintendo site, given how sexist she is
@Pichuka97 you right
@Shadowmoon522 also how hated she is in general. Not even the Marvel cast she works with particularly likes her.
@Elvie probably not since the Doom Slayer is a super masculine man.
It never fails to make me laugh about how defensive some men get by the mere mention of Brie Larson's name. She is also a massive Legend of Zelda fan so you cannot say she has bad taste in games.
As someone who doesn't really trust or admire the average movie star, I'd rather that celebrities focus on sharing things like their love of Nintendo as opposed to their political viewpoints. If she loves Animal Crossing, good for her! I'd rather discuss that than politics.
@Paraka I still don’t really see what the point of that is though. Hearing “Rey is a Mary Sue” or “captain marvel is boring” or wooden or whatever just communicates to me that a portion of men feel threatened by the inclusion of women in traditionally men led roles. If you just keep asking why, you will arrive at that root concept every time. Again if this was a well liked man saying these things and advocating for survivors, the comments here would be very very different
@Crockin - First; How is criticizing her ability a sign of a threat of my masculinity? Are you saying having an opinion of her that is negative is sexism? That how you're going to view it? That's not going to get you many miles in arguments if your response to "God she's aweful at X," is directly, "You must hate women, therefore your opinion is invalid and aweful."
It's equality, I can dislike her acting as much as I hate Orlando Bloom's acting (EVERY ROLE IS ELVEN!). But only one gets a response similar to yours. But for me, as I said before, I didn't watch Marvel because my experiences with her previous roles, and lack of concern for the character, I just passed on it.
And for your Mary Sue thing on Star Wars: That's true, but that's on the writers not Daisy Ridley. I also believe the writers were a myriad of people.
Paid advertising at its best. Plain and simple.
No doubt she’s a fan, but if you think Nintendo isn’t paying for this, you’d be crazy.
Some celebrity says he/she is excited for a game and 80% comments on a videogame site is all about politics, feminism, sexism, far left, far right and other crap.
THIS IS REALLY THE BEST TIME FOR GAMING! 🙄🤮
@TimboSlice I’d take a big fat check from Nintendo for saying I like Nintendo games, no sweat.
@TimboSlice Finally, the Brie Larson hot take this thread needed! Robin Williams was paid for some, if not all of his Zelda plugs (I don't think they paid him to name his kid Zelda, but weirder things have happened), so I wouldn't be surprised to learn she was paid for this. I wish it was a bit more transparent, though.
She just posted an Instagram story today asking if people would like to see her broadcast on Twitch, which I hope she follows through with because that sounds like it'd be very entertaining.
Oh the comments section...
Never seen a movie with Larson, but I've heard Room is good. And I share her hype for Animal Crossing.
It wouldn’t surprise me if her being a fan and a celebrity=paid endorsements. Nothing wrong with it, but...
As for her, I don’t know who she is other then I have recently been watching the avengers/marvel movies, and will not say anything except I’m not impressed by her role in the avengers movies. I have not seen her movie or anything else with her.
@Zuljaras You’re sort of taking my words out of context there, mate. Some women may abuse the system in the way you described (though it’s extremely uncommon, partly because women make only a fraction of their wage while on maternity leave, and because many countries, including the US, only guarantee 6 weeks of maternity leave, or none at all), but I have also had a number of male colleagues who waited for their probationary period to end and then started calling in sick every other week, offloading their deadlines onto the rest of the team. Just because a small percentage of a group is dishonest, it doesn’t mean it’s fair to generalise and penalise the entire category by paying them less for their labour. By that reasoning, employers should also start asking men whether they smoke before they hire them, and pay them less if they do, since that would potentially mean they’d get cancer or respiratory problems Down the line and need extended periods off sick from work. Ah, but that is discrimination, and it wouldn’t be fair, now, wouldn’t it? You see where I’m going?
@Jooles_95 Yes and I am all in for that to pay less to smokers
Still you are on the edge where women are abused and they are payed less. They are more hardworking and men are just terrible. I have not seen that in my company but it may be the case in other companies.
I think we are miles ahead of that now.
I bet NL staff are having a blast with this comment section, because I sure am.
Ya'll better be glad I'm not of the people who's running/overseeing this site. Because some of ya'll would have been warned/banned right about now for derailing the topic. Fine, you don't like her because of her political views and/or because of her performances as Captain Marvel. Ok that's you move on. All she's talking about is her excitement for this game.
@Slasher You are right about the derailing. We should at least get a warning but I guess NL wants more clicks and that is why they let us have this long and pointless discussion
@Slasher
I hope you'd be banning the people who derailed the comment section by posting that they liked the movie as well.
I liked the Captain Marvel movie, Zachary Levi was great as the title character.
Sadly this thread has gone where you thought it might go. It is a shame that we live in a timeline that an endorsement from an actress goes political, but then how else would it go with the things she has said (she went political first I suppose).
I sometimes think it is ill-advised that so many celebrities chime in on politics as I'm not convinced it helps their cause (there is always something incredibly tone-deaf about lecturing people that are struggling much more than you, who happened to win the symmetrical features lottery, about how they should vote).
@Crockin "middle ground would imply you do not have many strong opinions on either side".
Ugh, I'll bite because I think this is a very poor definition of middle ground. In my experience, middle ground means you have a nuanced set of beliefs that is not beholden to any orthodoxy. This means you might agree on the left on one issue, but with the right on another. It means you don't just accept a belief because it's coming from your side, or worse because it runs counter to the other side.
How sad that you have such a low opinion of people that are attempting to not just fall in line.
@nessisonett https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjWBXbGVyQU
Look at you lot, look at what Nintendolife does to you. Do you even know why you clicked on this article anymore? (end of Bourne paraphrasing).
My mind has been laser-focused on this game releasing and I have forgotten about Doom.
Thankfully, Doom is pre-ordered on PS4 and it'll be a huge surprise when I turn on my PS4 after it pre-loads.
March is a great month this year!
@Nehalem SO, some housekeeping first; I will admit my previous statement was a little exaggerated. Yes, a centrist or a moderate is a person who doesn't necessarily align with the left or right and instead cherry picks issues important to them without the influence of a pragmatic party. Yep, on paper this is what this is and sounds perfectly reasonable. Plenty of moderate politicians out there doing good stuff.
HOWEVER, even this is not the best definition, as moderate political ideology is a massive grey area. There are some key issues (ESPECIALLY rights and protections for people of color, women, and lgbtq, gun control etc) that in my opinion, place you squarely on one of two sides. I understand there's real moderates out there who contribute to society in a progressive way, but out here in the general public that just really isn't the case, I'm sorry. People identify as a centrist because A) They are too young to care or commit to supporting certain policies B) They want to avoid public scrutiny over supporting a few radical policies by not fully committing, therefore taking a blame free stance when one side makes a bad move, either right or left C) They are misinformed, uninformed, or lazy D)(this is the least likely) they are a true, active moderate who is very well informed, and doing meaningful work for those who resonate with them.
This isn't about me having a low opinion of people who are "free thinkers". It's more about having a low opinion of people who outwardly denounce groups I've listed above. you can think and say whatever you want, but people will occasionally question you on it, and that goes both ways.
@nessisonett it's 7am here and I'm on my way to work. I believe the video is left wing, just not far left like you appear to have turned. The video also simply states facts. Have a great, day, I hope you earn exactly the same as all other genders doing the same job as you today xoxo
@Savino feminist femininity. Anyhow, explain what is toxic masculinity, honestly? And what makes it toxic exactly? These are honest questions.
@Nehalem you might want to look up what orthodox means, not much wiggle room there.
I'm sure Nintendo loves the free advertising she gives them too!
She seems like a nice person, but anyone in the spotlight has their haters, the brighter the light, the larger the shadow...
@chancein421 it’s after comments like that I realize they did away with down votes
@nessisonett - I had to look up this little dismissal.
You... You do know June is a die-hard liberal Bernie supporter right? I am going out on a limb here and say... That's not right-wing, or anywhere near it.
The statement is true though, the current outcome of the "pay gap" is a solution of many factors tied into one massive conglomerate answer. What can essentially alleviate this is many answers to many stages, but even then that serves to undermine other freedoms like some more willing to work more hours.
BBC ran into a similar problem by cutting many males salaries (cause you know, destroying one totally helps build another). In time many of those who agreed simply... worked more hours and compensated their pay, which then became another issue.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/26/business/media/bbc-pay-gap.html
I can only attest to my anecdotal evidence; Most women I train have kids, and many have turned down positions like mine or higher due to the demand of time upper management position demands, Which is fine, but that inherently moves to more males who are willing. We literally even have a policy to target women first, we literally have to offer it to ALL women before offering it to applied males. One reason they want to "tackle disparity," but this is inherently flawed cause then you're getting some with little, or NO training at all.
These practices and more all affect that little "pay gap" debate, and there isn't any true answer to equalize that in its entirety, unless we start suggesting many males work for free after a certain set of hours.
@Sgt_Falcon same could be asked about caring what you think...
@Zuljaras I’m beginning to suspect that you’re a troll... EDIT- yeah, definitely a troll.
@Zuljaras lol so true, pointless discussion.
Hahah its funny tho see tho, how big a fan she is of AC.
I knew why there would be so many comments on this post. But I was surprised at the “get over it, it’s current year” comments.
Why not just call gaming what it IS, the (kinda) new media that replaced what we used to call 'the Movies' The media all walks of life partake in.
There's still plenty of time till the 20th, can we get a daily report of twitter people who seem excited?
I mean, apparently that's news now, might as well go all the way...
I care less about what this feminist does or likes.
@CasePB #metoo - greatly entertained by this nonsense today.
Sometimes I'm glad that I live in country, where there are bigger problems than this and similar. Then I realize that I must work over a dozen of hours to buy a videogame, and I still live in one of the richest countries in the world and I don't know anymore.
@SSJW In fact I'm not. That's why I wrote that I don't really know anymore. Also I'm kinda confused how, for example, news about Brie Larson and Animal Crossing can generate 100+ comments while interview with NES creator have 20 or so.
Nice comment section. So many fragile people here a stone throw away from shattering.
Grow up, boys.
You incels need to go outside more lmao.
@darkswabber I feel like I'm in the same boat. I dont think it's the greatest MCU movie ever, but its certainly not the worst. I'd probably put blame on the way her character was written/directed.
On a Nintendo related subject though, will the Doom Slayer be an unlockable villager? Considering that Isabell and him are apparently best friends lol
It's nice to see more people getting excited for Animal Crossing. Her tweeting it is good publicity for Nintendo too based on her following. I wonder would such a type of endorsement help more casual gamers to make the jump to buying a switch. It's the perfect game to capture such a demographic so it'll be great to hear how Nintendo are doing in sales in the weeks after it's release .
Thank you for this amazing news. Now I definitely have to get this.
