The launch day of Animal Crossing probably isn't the best time to publicise your cutesy life-sim game
(Saw Same gender marriage between Male player and Gray)
Oh, my...!! 😍
Gray without cap looks quite different. 😘
While the art style has grown on me, and I don't think it looks absolutely terrible, I still wish they would've went in a different direction. Not gonna be a deal-breaker though, I'll still be picking this up.
I’m not a huge fan of the art style, to be honest, but I love Story of Seasons games and MFoMT is the one that got me into the genre, so think I’ll pick it up anyway once it comes out.
I remember this being a really good game. It had a lot more depth than I was expecting and actual replay value.
@klingki Same here. Honestly, it's not that far off from the style of Magical Melody.
i for one cannot wait for this game to launch <3 will give it another go, cause the first time i played it -i didn't really get into it like that but after seeing much of it more i wanna give it another go and i freaking adore the art and graphics T_T
Is this a game in the Harvest Moon series? I was just wondering, after the last one on Switch was said to be bad.
At this point I think I have enough games in this genre so I think I'm going to pass
@ZeldaFanboy78 Oh okay, good to know. Was the renaming a consequence of maybe a worsened reputation of the brand "Harvest Moon" after the Switch release?
@StefanN it wasnt a renaming, it was due to the marvelous/natsume split, Marvelous make the SoS games which were the harvest moon games but they didnt need Natsume any more for localisation, but natsume wouldnt let go of the name rights
I mean, this is great an all, but we're all wanting a new Story of Seasons for Switch - I'm not sure how I feel about that Doraemon verion.
This was the game that got me and both my kids addicted to farming RPGs, eventyally leading through every Harvest Moon, Rune Factory, SoS and Stardew Valley. Hundreds of hours sunk into Mineral Town by Yours Truly, and the GBA cartridge is still in play with my daughter. This is one of my lifetime top games.
You would think I wouldn't need a remake, but I can't say no to this. Buying it ASAP.
Will be getting this. Never played the original.
I played Friends of Mineral Town so much that I’m kinda surprised I forgot it was a gba title. Probably going to get this, even tho I don’t love the screens, I get that they were trying to capture the spirit of the original. A little on the nose, as I think they could have pushed it a bit further. Almost wish they just used better sprites. Still excited.
@StefanN The last real Harvest Moon game was Harvest Moon 3D A New Beginning. Every 'Harvest Moon' game after that was/is just using the name. The real series continues as Story of Seasons games.
@StefanN It is. The last one was 'bad' was because it was a crossover game between Doraemon so the MCs were all kids. It had no romance which turned a lot of people off. Unless you're referring to Light of Hope, which was one of Natsume's 'harvest moons' which suck in general. After the split any real harvest moon game is named Story of Seasons.
This game is a remake of one of the original Harvest Moons.
@RPGamer
Story of Seasons series are still same Bokujou Monogatari, the real Harvest Moon.
@jco83 Ah, thank you for clearing that up for me man! Really interesting to know.
@StefanN can read all about it on Wikipedia 😉
I loved Friends of Mineral Town, it is one of my all-time favorite games. I just don't know about this one. Am I the only one to note that Ellie's name was changed in the Switch version, it ended with an I in the originals, didn't it?
