Earlier this month, Stardew Valley creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone revealed he was working on two new projects – with both of the titles having links to the popular farming and lifestyle simulator. That doesn't mean he's necessarily done with his original creation, though.
In a recent update over on Twitter, Barone announced another free content update was currently in development. Version 1.5 of Stardew Valley will follow on from the most recent patch which added new content to the game, quality-of-life features, bug fixes and plenty of optimisation improvements.
Barone was also asked if a split-screen mode would be added or if there were plans for DLC. He said split-screen is probably not possible due to technical reasons, and added how he had "no plans" for paid DLC but would be releasing more games in the future.
In January, the creator revealed Stardew Valley had sold over 10 million copies worldwide in four years. Although no further details were provided about the sales, the game is regularly at the top of the eShop download charts and other digital stores.

I hope for cross-platform multiplayer eventually, so my sister and I could play.
Been enjoying 1.4 now that it's out on all devices. Can't wait to see what 1.5 will bring.
I have to get back to this - been gone for some time.
I just finished the movie theater in my 3rd farm. I wish he'd have given us a ballpark estimation on when 1.5 will release. I don't know if I want to wait, or just continue with my current farm. I might wait though, since all I really have left to do right now is save up for that magic clock.
1.4 added a lot, and I really enjoyed playing my 3rd farm. But the game still does reach a point where I feel like there is nothing much left to do aside from grinding money. That's one of the only issues I have with it, as opposed to Animal Crossing which can feel like you can just go forever.
Well over 800 hours on Switch alone.
What's another 200 hours? ^^;;
I’ve been way too side tracked with Witcher that I haven’t gotten back into this since patch 1.3. Been meaning to, love this game.
Really loving the indie devs in switch, sooooo much awesome support and free updates.
@SteveDaSteve Same here since now he has confirmed that split screen won't happen.
hoping they able to crossplay switch and pc
This man is a saint. I love all the additional content he adds to the game and I find it incredible he does it all for free. He puts so many big-name developers to shame. I will very much look forward to 1.5.
The man is becoming a living LEGEND.
Call my crazy but so far I enjoy Stardew Valley more than Z:BofW ...
The gameplay is just so much more addictive while in Z:BofW I feel like it is off balance, lacking in story or something else. I don't know.
What I know Stardew Valley feels so right. I have never played Animal Crossing before but I am more than eager to finally try it out and compare how it stacks again SV/
I recently made it to late-game for the first time in this. I've been playing it obsessively and I'm almost burnt out. I just want to finish the missing bundle and buy Pam a house and then I can step away and play other games. Until 1.5 comes out.
This game was already ridiculously generous with the amount of content for the price, adding even more value is crazy.
Too late. Animal Crossing is just around the corner, and I only got Stardew Valley to make the wait easier.
