Square Enix has released a number of demos over the past few years for major releases like Octopath Traveler and Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age and the trend looks set to continue.
There's now been a listing over on the PlayStation Store tracker website Gamstat for a demo of Square Enix's upcoming 3D remake, Trials of Mana. This website is the same site that revealed the Double Dragon & Kunio-kun Retro Brawler Bundle ahead of its official reveal last week, so it's likely to be accurate.
Although this is a listing on a PlayStation website, the demo is expected to be made available on the Nintendo Switch as well. And whenever it does arrive, it'll be available to download across all regions.
The game itself is a remake of the legendary Super Famicom RPG Seiken Densetsu 3 and is due out on 24th April. If you're eager to find out more, you can always check out the original 1995 Super Famicom release, which was made available in the Collection of Mana last year.
Is this a demo you would be interested in playing ahead of the full game's release? Leave a comment down below.

Hooray! Eager to try this out! I heart demos.... I spent like 60 hours on the DQXI demo grinding out money and perfection pearls for forging later, once I got the actual game for Christmas. It worked out great!
Demos are the best!
I love demos. Think every game should have one. Hopefully this has the same feature as Dragon Quest that lets you carry over your progress.
I'd love to demo this game and move it from a maybe to a must buy
Im buying before im trying, but I'll probabaly give this a try
I feel like this should just be expected at this point
I'll take it! Still gotta play the original first though.
This is one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Trials of Mana was a masterpiece on the SNES. From the looks of the remake, it's looking like it transitioned faithfully to the modern era.
I already bought this on Steam, but I may double-dip for the Switch port. I'll need to try out the demo and see how well it's optimized.
A demo definitely wouldn't hurt. I was already thinking that this was a game I would probably want but I am really feeling overwhelmed by my game backlog at this point. Trials of Mana already moved over to my "want but probably never have" list but it's nice to have a demo so I know for sure. I was super excited for the Dragon Quest XI demo but I also knew I was going to get the game so I never ended up playing it.
@readalie : I'm partial to full versions myself.
Good! I never played the original.
I hope we can continue the progress from Demo version to Full version.
Great! Demos are always welcome.
Oooh, I was hoping for a demo for this
I don't know. Playable demos for PS4 don't always appear on Switch systems. For that matter, there are even multi-region demos that are only available on the Japanese eShop such as that platforming game where you play as a girl with a fishing hook.
Not having played any of the Mana games, can this be played standalone?
YEEESSSSSSSS!!!!
I won't be checking out the demo. Pre-ordered for both my switch & ps4.
Will be busy playing other games till it's out & i get my copies.
Demo always help.....
@San_D Yes all the games are basically stand alone. There are a few themes that connect the games but nothing majorly like story lines.
I was pretty certain I would buy the game, it looks incredible, but a demo would make me decide if I buy it day one or not lol.
Look ridiculous
@Tasuki Thanks a lot for the info. Will try the demo.
I been keeping my eye on this game. I can't wait for the demo to drop.
Maybe it will even be as lengthy as DQ11's demo!
Yes please and can I have a demo of final fantasy 7 on ps4 too while your at it square.
Squeenix has been very generous with a lot of their demos - Octopath's the only one I've tried that was more restricted, and even that still let me get two characters and finish both their first chapters, which was just enough to sell me on the game.
Here's hoping this one's also good.
I hope this is true. I just rage quit the original yesterday actually. Got to a ridiculous difficulty spike and it really put me off. Otherwise, I was really enjoying the game.
I have to beat the original in collection of mana first.
But surely I'll get this remake too !
Square remade the Secret of Mana for Playstation. Is switch getting this port as well? Seems odd to give us Trials of Mana remastered and not Secret of Master remastered ...
Nice.
I wonder if the gameplay will be the same as the original on the Mana Collection or if it's a complete overhaul?
@tzahn Just wait until you meet the enemies that retaliate when you use powerful spells and abilities. And then theres the black rabite...
Nice. I went through the version on Collection of Mana already and would do it a 2nd time with this version.
