UK chart data is now in for the week ending 4th January, revealing that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is still at number one after dominating the chart throughout Christmas and the new year.
It's a very familiar looking sight all round really, with Nintendo's top effort once again being Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Luigi's Mansion 3 is still performing nicely too, and Dr Kawashima's Brain Training For Nintendo Switch has squeezed into the top twenty in its debut week.
Here's a look at this week's top twenty all formats physical chart:

I'm impressed Luigi is still selling. Well deserved. One of last year's greatest games.
Can there be anyone left who doesn’t own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
This is also the first time Brain Training has been in the charts since DS, the 3DS games were so late that they didn't chart at all.
Went on Mario Kart yesterday after about a year of not playing it. I can see why its selling it's still so good!
@jarvismp people who don't have a Switch yet but plan to buy one? I mean, the same question gets asked about GTA 5. And that both games can be found in console bundles helps both cases, although likely doesn't guarantee them by itself.
That said, I still don't have MK8D either. Like I said before, I don't even plan to get it yet - at the very least, not until I'm done with MK7.
I only got Mario Kart a couple of weeks ago. I figured who needs another Mario Kart, but it looks gorgeous and is fun even for someone like me who's rubbish at it.
Just wondering if the console bundles actually have an impact on this chart? If so, that is not right in my opinion, as you bought the console and it came with a game. But, I am one of those people who doesn't like how Wii Sports was a massive seller for the Wii only because it came as a bundle.
Mario kart is doing really well I’ve not seen it discounted in any shops but most of the top have been discounted this Christmas including modern warfare
Luigis Mansion 3 performance has got to be a real stand out for Nintendo UK. Mario Kart 8 and Pokemon Sword are obvious big sellers but LM3 has been steadily just selling since October.
I'm really happy with this, LM3 was my game of 2019 and an utter joy to play.
There will be an MK9 and it will launch for the Switch 2.
@michellelynn0976 Unfortunately, the potential for an MK9 has been replaced by a port.
No Ring Fit Adventure? Strange
Nice that Spyro and Crash still can sell so well even months or years after. Just shows me how strong those to IPs can be if you putt money and effort into them.
@jarvismp Me, as I already owned Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. I do wonder how much of the sales are double dippers as there maybe will come a time when I’d like to experience it all over again.
@Max_the_German I've been looking everywhere for it and got lucky in a random ASDA. There doesn't seem to be stock of it anywhere, at the moment.
How the hell is WWE 2K20 in the top 10 despite having so many issues.
How is WWE 2k20 on a list that doesn’t include the word worst in the title! Its not even playable now!
@immensechicken
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fuel is way better know. There is way more skill involved, and I can actually win.
Don't worry know, I'm making the Labo Steering Wheel tonight. It might give me the edge on Mario Kart 8 DX!
Oh yeah. There was a new Call of Duty.
this is just how the UK is the majority love first person shooters and Fifa
Liked playing SW: Fallen Order more than watching Rise of Skywalker (game story also made more sense 😅)
LM3 deserves the sales. Almost the perfect on the GO game for me.
@KBuckley27 Flip the top 3 around a bit and exactly the same as the last Europe chart that covers Christmas. Love for FPS/FIFA is just about everywhere
