We love Pokémon, we love Animal Crossing, and we're pretty sure that plenty of you reading this will love them both, too. All going well, then, this should go down a treat.
Andrei Mishanin, a Russian artist who seemingly has a flair for creating cute pieces of joy, has shared their latest creation online depicting a number of female characters from Pokémon Sword and Shield as if they were in the Animal Crossing universe.
We can see the player character, the professor's granddaughter Sonia, the Fighting-type Gym Leader Bea, the Water-type Leader Nessa, rival Marnie, and a Poké Kid dressed as an Eevee.
Pretty adorable, huh?
Of course, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is just around the corner, and this has us thinking about how much we'd love to see crossovers appear from other major releases. It might sound barmy, but Mario Kart has Animal Crossing characters and The Legend of Zelda's Link in it these days, and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has been featuring the odd bit of crossover gear, too.
Would you like to see a whole cast of Nintendo characters rock up on New Horizons' islands, or is the Animal Crossing cast too precious to tamper with? Let us know with a comment below.
You can check out more of Andrei's work here if you're interested.

PKMN is too close to Pikmin for my liking and it pains my Pikmin loving heart. Can’t you abbreviate to something else?
Yes please Nintendo.
No thanks Nintendo.
@beazlen1 same here
No please Pokemon shouldn't be rewarded for failing to hire enough employees or spend enough moeny to include the National Dex.
I think that style looks better for pokemon
How cute. 😀
I want to see Pokemon guys clothes on New Horizons.
They could be the new fortune cookies rewards. Or even limited timed events too promote new games coming out
Fusing a great game with utter garbage
What if the Animal crossing animals came to Pokémon....
... and you could catch them?
Nicely done!
They could pass for the real thing
@beazlen1 Pokémon has been abbreviated to PKMN in-game since Red & Blue, although I don’t think I’ve actually seen it in any recent games. That said, other than ‘P’, I guess the only option would just be ‘Poké’?
Pokemon Stuff has already been in Animal Crosssing Pocket Camp like the eevee outfit
sure what they had there and more would be in the Switch game
Id prefer other pokemon outfits than these.
I love this artstyle! Please re-release Pokemon Sword and Shield with Animal Crossing design!!! Graphical part of AC should be done anyway if they release in March so get to work slaves
I'm not necessarily for or against this idea, per say. I more wonder if it's necessary at all, though. There's so much fantastic clothing to pick from in AC, (which will certainly be added to in AC:NH) but it leaves me wondering, and I ask non-rhetorically, do we need dedicated costumes identical to those of which games they're taken from?
I always thought that animal crossing would be a cool pokemon farm or daycare. Send your pokemon over so they can to villager stuff, farm fruits and collect stuff for you.
Super cute. I've for years said that a PokemonXAnimal Crossing game would be just printing money.
Just imagine an AC game set in the Pokemon world, instead of battling you live AC style with a few Pokemon pets and interacting with your other villagers, farming berries, collecting local bug Pokemon, catching local water Pokemon. Travelling Pokemon trainers would come to town and you could trade them for rarer Pokemon and items.
It could even potentially sync to your mainline game and have all sorts of cross-compatibility fun!
OR Imagine no human characters. What if each box in your PC is an Animal Crossing style village! Pokemon Crossing could be based around that and you could actually play as one of your Pokemon in their village!
So many possibilities!
As longs as it's just items, I'm ok with that.
After all Animal Crossing always had items and references from Nintendo franchises like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, Pikmin, F-ZERO, Donkey Kong, EarthBound, and more.
These need to be in Animal Crossing, barring that a Animal Crossing/Pokemon crossover game.
