They actually promoted this back when Terry got revealed, too.
But it got overshadowed by the Sans Mii Gunner reveal and the relevant merch.

I actually think terry is the best dlc fighter. More than banjo. The amount of love put in to him, his stage and the music was so amazing. I dont hate banjo but terry got me more hyped!

@PickledKong64 Yep, that Fighter Showcase did something to me and now I feel more invested in Smash, and the fighting games it's referencing, than ever. Really was a great showcase celebrating the genre.
