Remember the demo for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age released a while ago? Well, now Square Enix has released a "Jumbo Demo" for Dragon Quest Builders 2.
All of the content within this demo combined promises to offer "hours" of gameplay, including farming in Furrowfield.
And just like the Dragon Quest XI S demo on the Switch, once you're done playing through the Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo you'll be able to transfer your save data across to the full version.
So, head over to the Switch eShop now and download this if you haven't already played through the game.

"Hours of gameplay..." but how much of the game are we allowed to play?
How good is this game? I'm curious about it, seems quite addictive.
Lets see... DQ11 demo was reportedly 10 hours long at minimum, so theres a benchmark to get the idea.
What about fixing the frame rate?
@JeanPaul It's great. Found the characters super charming and the story only got better as it went on. And the gameplay is really fun and there is tons to do. Personally my favorite game of the year.
@chagrined I heard bad things about the performance though. How bad is it?
@jobvd I had minor framerate stuttering a few times during the game but nothing major (didn't impact gameplay or detract from my enjoyment). The more serious framerate issues are when you visit another player's island online if they've packed it to the brim with objects. Even so, most online islands still work reasonably well. There were a few I visited that were really slow. Still recommend the game without hesitation.
@N1ntendodo Sounds good. I have spent less hours on games I've paid for.
If it lets you play all the way to the end of the Furrowfield story, that will be incredibly generous, and also a fantastic sampling of what the game has to offer.
Unless I'm mistaken, DQ Builders 2 might be the best selling DQ game on the Switch?
Got this on Switch first, then for my PS4 Pro. I found the stuttering to be distracting, unfortunately, cause it’s a nice game to be played in handheld mode. Don’t know why they didn’t go with 720p and 60 fps like the first DQB.
@Lando_
I think that due to the game being multi-platform and having online sharing features with a focus on sharing worlds and screenshots, they needed to maintain visual parity between the two platforms.
Which is why DQ Builders 2 suddenly has terrible performance once any water is on screen.
I put 60 hours into the free demo of the first game. Seemed to be the entire first world.
I found it insanely generous and it acted as a gateway drug to get me into the real Minecraft.
@J-Plap I heard up until the boss of the first story island (Furrowfield).
So quite a lot.
Downloaded, but haven't played the previous demo for this game.
Good to see it gets a proper demo now. The previous one unfortunately didn't really let you try out much of the building gameplay. if it really lets you play the entire Furrowfield part, it's almost a short standalone game for people who don't need the whole thing.
I traded my game in towards DQXIS. I loved DQ Builders 2, but after reaching the end, I didn't enjoy the free building like so many do. The first chapter is my favourite so I'm a very happy camper for this demo.
@JeanPaul the game is fantastic (according to me at least ).. I have played it through twice. I also loved the first one.
@JeanPaul If you're curious. Download it. In my opinion, it is one of the top games of the year. It's VERY VERY good.
Well I will give it another go, the first demo was decent but didn't really convince me to purchase.
Wasn’t there already a DQB2 demo?
@VR32X Yes, this is a longer one. The previous demo only let you play through to the first time you arrive on the Island of Awakening. This doesn't get through much of the story and doesn't introduce many new building tools. The new demo apparently lets you play through the entire first story island, so about 1/4 of the game. Way way bigger. Many people complained that the first demo stopped before things got interesting so they probably put this one out to entice more people to play.
@chagrined Thanks.
