There's an awful lot to discover and explore in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so much so that we wouldn't blame you for consulting a guide or two when it comes to finding all of the game's shrines or its best clothing and armour. As it happens, one lucky person out there has access to the ultimate walkthrough guide for the game.
Twitter user @itika89 has shared several images on the platform, showcasing a homemade map to the game made by their mother. As you can see, the whole thing is hand-drawn and features all of the landmarks you'll know and recognise from the game. Incredibly, even smaller details like every shrine, enemy locations and boss fights are also recorded.
There's something glorious about this being hand-drawn on physical paper - perhaps it reminds us of our youths when we'd have to write out anything we needed to remember and draw little maps to remember certain routes in our favourite games, or maybe it's because it adds to the sense of adventure, almost like following a real treasure map.
Either way, it's an incredible effort.

Wonderful! I'd love this.
I wanna buy this!
Awesome! Would buy.
Wonder why Nintendo hasn't do anything like this.
Groovy.
and intimidating all that stuff i need to see in the game
Wow, someone’s mom made them that?? Legendary stuff!!
Oh my lord oh my god oh my goodness oh my
For other games like skyrim, GTA, Red dead redemption and other games. When you bought the game you got a a huge map. why didn't we get this for Zelda botw.
Should have just printed off the map on zelddungeon
@Audiogore0733 Because Nintendo wanted players to explore the map while playing. It's an adventure game where part of the magic is exploring things through curiosity by seeing points of interest in the distance.
I tried the same thing and used a screenshot program to make the picture from a site showing the map feature and it was huge. I made it but the size from the online site was 4ftx6ft large a huge map. The first try was so massive I had to give up on the first effort.
@Slaz i know the game is part of learning and getting new locations to expand the map but a map still woulda been cool.
@Audiogore0733 With that I agree. Perhaps if not included within the physical game box, they could've made it a My Nintendo extra or something. My Nintendo could use some physical goods anyway.
And all the Korok Seeds too. Good old mum!
@Slaz ya my Nintendo hasn't done very much lately
I wonder what reference the mom used to make it? Was it all online guides or was most of it from the child/mother playing the game?
I tried to check what they had to say on twitter, but the poster is Japanese, so that makes it hard to figure anything out.
I’m sure the breath of the wild expanded game guide came with a decent size map with all the items and shrines and stuff, having said that this is still awesome and well done. I’d love to have the patience to sit and do something like this.
"...showcasing a homemade map to the game made by their mother."
WTF? This dude's mom made this map? What is the world coming to?
I pretty much explored all of the map and used markers up to the limit, never could put korok seeds down because I knew I'd be out by the time I marked all hinox, stalnox, talus and lionel. Anyway, that took 465 hours so no way Would I hand draw a map on top of that...
I much, much rather use this than an online app to help me with my remaining korok seeds.
Add me to this list of buyers please.
Her parenting skills are........OVER 9000?!?!?!?!?!
@mgnoodle This.
Maps like this are on the internet. Why is everyone in such a tizzy?
@mgnoodle @pullmyfinger
There's no fun in just downloading and printing.
Oh great, now I wish my Mom was a map maker...
That is great stuff.
