Shakedown: Hawaii Launches On 3DS eShop This Month, Includes The "Full Tank" Update

That's pretty amazing. Almost want to get it just to support this move, but would rather have it on Switch.

Though minus the threshold part.

Might pick this up for my New 2DS.

Definitely deserves a double-dip from me. Brian is an optimization and coding beast! AAA devs can learn a lot from him.

I wish I was half as good. I’m a programmer, I know C++, I know a lot, but not all the tricks. Wish I was smarter I would’ve finished my game by now. I have 0 drawing skills, the sprites don’t exist.

Other than that, there’s music missing, ideas lacking. But my coding is okay. I suppose.

@MarcusIsCool There's a reason most games are developed by teams of people dude. Few people have all the skills they need. You should look to team up with people and work together! Best of luck!

I better think about how to do people skills better. And become better at marketing myself. But I learn everyday.

Glad the 3DS is still getting love, though. I still like it more than the Switch as a console, by far.

@Jumpman me too; waiting ages. Much rather play this kind of game on 3DS than Switch.

It's cool that you publish articles like this, because with the weekly download updates there's no way to know what stuff gets released or discounted on 3DS eShop anymore. I'm sure that's on Nintendo, not on you guys, but still.

@MarcusIsCool Just knowing C++ is a solid start. Also, you don't have to feel that you have to do everything yourself. You can always hunt for people (artists, musicians, etc.) that can fill in the gaps later. That can be said about a lot of startup projects, not necessarily just games.

I'm not a programmer yet, but I do want to make a game someday (a roguelite and business-based sim). So I got even farther to go

Props to the developer for following through on this version. It may not generate a lot of sales, but it's an excellent act of goodwill. That in itself can be worth a lot more at times than a company's bottom line.

My 3DS will thank me. Can't wait to finally start this one

Will this be 3D? Honestly I don't want to deal with the nub on the 3DS, but it may sway my decision if it is. Otherwise I plan to play it on Switch.

I will one hundred percent getting this for my 2ds as it contains almost my entire 3ds library, I only have the N3DS XL for exclusives, regardless I've been holding on for this release for a long time, I mainly only play older games now and newer indie releases, anything new that isn't too demanding will go on my old junker ThinkPad T500 haha, I'll wait a while before I jump to the switch, especially with all the joy con stuff going on.

@MarcusIsCool I remembered a couple GDC talks Brian did on Retro City Rampage 486 (the DOS version) and ROM City Rampage (a.k.a. the NES version) which are fascinating and well worth a watch.
