Devolver Digitial and Dodge Roll's twin-stick roguelike Enter The Gungeon launched on Switch all the way back at the end of 2017 and has finally received a physical release thanks to Nighthawk Interactive and Special Reserve Games. Beyond the case and game card (which includes the full game, all of its previously released DLC, and an exclusive Shotgun Kin Skin) this package comes with a few extra goodies to entice pre-existing fans or anyone who's still on the fence.
Our personal favourite from this set is the Bullet Kin Papercraft figure. It honestly was much simpler to put together than we expected and while it may up the cuteness level of your desk, we're not sure how well it will fair protecting you from gun-toting baddies.
This set also includes a sticker sheet full of stickers of Bullet Kin and a download code for the original soundtrack. And unlike a significant amount of third party Switch releases, Enter The Gungeon even has reversible cover art! Decorated, of course, with more Bullet Kin.
The physical release of Enter The Gungeon for Nintendo Switch is now available in North America for $29.99 through a number of retailers.

Very cool but that game without a mouse to play with is nothing but a decoration lol.
Got it physical on the PS4, for free on the PC, got it digital on the Switch and will import the game from Amazon physcial on the Switch.
I plunged way too many hours in this game and realllllly like it.
Also @xmrmeow In my opinion this game equally as playable on consoles as on the PC. Since this is a “twin-stick” shooter among other genres.
I only wished for Dodge Roll games to let the game be more optimised for the Nintendo Switch since I still experience framedrops even on the fast preset.
This coming to countries outside the US as well?
Physical is very tempting, but I wonder, will my save file on the digital version carry over onto it?
I've got 125 hours sunk into this game. I still have yet to collect all the ultimate gun parts or unlock any new characters so I am horrendous at playing it, and yet keep coming back. Addictive gameplay and such a sense of humor in this game!
This is great but I would pay more for the Ammonomicon (like the PS4 version)
@Teksetter
That's a good question, because sometimes the physical release of a game is separate from the digital release, but then sometimes it's also not.
The physical releases of Steamworld Dig 2 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap for example are separate from their respective digital releases for example. And the physical release of Sonic Mania Plus is actually the same as the digital release of Sonic Mania, with or without the Plus/Encore DLC.
Such is the case that if you have the physical copy of Sonic Mania Plus, play some of the standard game as Mighty or Ray, and then play the digital version without the DLC installed, you can't continue those save files due to missing DLC.
I'm confused...if the game is in stores published by Nighthawk Interactive, what does Special Reserve have to do with it?
Edit: Further research shows they were involved...also, they have their own exclusive version opening preorders later this month. Oy vey...
THIS IS NOT FAIR! I already own it digitally but I like physical and I like goodies. might get it eventually.
@RupeeClock to add to your list...some of the cartridges continued from my digital icon/game data save and some made a second icon/game data save. Diablo, Flinthook, Hollow Knight, Iconoclasts, MK8D, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Rayman Legends Definitive Edition, Rocket League, Splatoon 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Thumper, and Yoku's Island Express used the same digital icon/game data save. Golf Story, Oxenfree, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country made a new digital icon/game data save.
My copy will be arriving in the mail today. I've been wanting to try this game for a while now.
@RupeeClock
Thank you for the insight! I’m really curious to know whether the cartridge version can use the e-shop version save file. Hopefully we’ll have definitive word soon.
On one hand, I’ve played long hours earning those Hegemony Credits to unlock most of the hundreds of guns and items in the Ammonomicom. It’d be a shame to lose that progress.
On the other, this is a fantastic game that I’d love to own physically, and I almost wouldn’t mind playing and earning back unlocks if needed.
I’ll have to ponder this... perhaps consult a few pages of the Table Sutra for guidance. 😂
@Teksetter If I get it physical, I will come back here and post whether it used the same digital icon/game data save or created a new one.
@Teksetter they should as the save files are on your switch.
@TekSone
Great - thank you! I may just pick it up and see for myself, too.
@Dirty0814
Thank you - hopefully you're right and the cart can use the existing save file and same game menu icon. Fingers are crossed!
@Teksetter Often depends on the publisher of both, sadly.
I bought Bit Trip Runner 3 physically, then digitally. Save didn't transfer.
I'd maybe tweet Dodge Roll Games about it.
This better come to the UK, I'll pay customs if i have to but thats just so much hassle
I can't wait to get myself a copy! I thought this was already released though?
I played a ton of this game already, but, I'd totally double dip if they had the Ammonomicon included. Either way, if you haven't played it before, this is an awesome game and well worth the $30 they're asking.
Pretty cool that they have a reversible cover. I'm not a huge fan of the all yellow box art with the smiley face, so having an alt cover with some nice art work on it is a plus.
@wyzworld76 @TekSone @RupeeClock
Just an update: I picked up the cartridge yesterday and I'm happy to report it just let me use the same save data I had from my old digital copy of the game. It did not create a new (duplicate) icon for Gungeon in my on-screen game menu.
So I have officially double-dipped, and no regrets!
@Teksetter that is AWESOME-SAUCE! Thanks for the update!
