Gotta be the worst time for that to release in my life. Big oof for me, man. Too much of my money tied up in wedding planning.
Cool that means i'll be getting my two pre ordered three pack of games in a week or so.
I like a collection as much as the next guy but why would you fork out for what should be a quick play downloadable game to play alongside your big releases?
You buy it so you can play it then sell it for what you paid or for more money @RadioHedgeFund. It's like getting paid to play video games or playing for free.
@BacklogBlues that’s not a bad idea!
I'm down for this, if I can buy it before the speculators get all the copies available. Never got around to buying it on the eShop, and I've heard nothing but superlatives about it. I'd rather spend $32 on a high-quality labor of love from an indie dev than yet another cash-grab remastered PS2 game from Sega or Square Enix - and I already buy those all the time.
Not to mention that Wulverblade was a Switch exclusive back in 2017. They supported the Switch early on, I'm happy to give some support back.
But of course, all 5000 copies will probably be gone in three seconds on the 11th, and I'm not taking a day off work to buy a videogame, so this is all academic. I kind of hate the super-limited release format.
This is what I don't like about these limited physical releases. If you don't get them when they're available for pre-order then you're never getting them ever. All you'll see at their website are those lame Sold Out items. Wish I could get them when they go up for pre-order but not everyone will have the cash to get them during their print run.
Great game! Glad to see it's getting noticed a bit more.
It's a really neat game. I've finished it on PC when it was released, but might give it another go on Switch.
@RadioHedgeFund That's how I feel about most of these eshop games getting physical releases like this. The physical release is always overpriced and hard to order, seems to make the whole thing kinda pointless.
I agree with you on the hard to get part @JayJ. But not on the overpriced part. This game cost $19.99 on Eshop. So for $12.55 extra you get a 20 page color manual, 3 pack of cards, gamecart, gamecase, slipcover and a game you can resell. Sounds totally reasonable to me.
@Vectorman Didn't say they were.
@Vectorman No worries! I like remasters and ports as much as the next gamer. I just meant to say that a physical release of an indie game like Wulverblade certainly deserves my money as much as or more than any of those things.
Hey Everyone, just a quick thanks from me (Mike, creative director on Wulverblade) to a) Nintendo Life for the coverage! and b) all you lovely people for saying such kind words!
As some of my remember from my earlier comments here, this game is my baby and means the world to me. Getting a physical release has been the dream since day 1 and for it to be on the Switch is cherry on top.
I've given this physical release my all, I really have. I sunk countless days into that bespoke cover (reversible too!), even more into the bespoke colour manual/artbook and then went totally crazy with the printing techniques for the slip cover. Its printed on matt metallic with spot UV gloss highlights and WOW it POPS. I can't wait for you to see it, its a wonder to behold.
Anyway, I'm rambling, just a big thanks to everyone again, this site and its community have been our biggest supporters. THANK YOU!
