Update: The retail release has been pushed back to 29th October in North America and 1st November in Europe.
In June, we found HopFrog and Humble Bundle would release the delightful 2D open-world adventure Forager on the Switch eShop at the end of July.
If you would prefer a physical release, it's now been confirmed a retail edition will be made available in North America on 10th September for $29.99 and in Europe on 13th September for the equivalent pricing. This "special package" will also come with an exclusive poster and stickers. See for yourself below:
Pre-orders for this upcoming physical release will be available through GameStop and coming soon to various other retailers including Amazon, Best Buy and Target.

Getting this for sure!
Happy for physicalphiles, but this is a title meant to live on your Switch, and be dived in and out of.
@PhilKenSebben I'll definitely be grabbing this digitally for this exact reason! Do we have any idea what the eShop price is going to be?
@ZombieGavinS They said over Twitter that its the same as PC: $19.99
@PhilKenSebben awesome stuff! I do love it when a game I'm looking forward to doesn't have a hefty Switch tax applied to it
Interesting looking game.
Super excited for this looks like a cross between zelda and stardew valley. Now if only crosscode would give us some updates!
@Chunkboi79 They actually say "LoZ meets Terraria and Stardew Valley" on their website.
I've never played this, and I haven't bought any kind of game like this for my Switch yet ( No Stardew, Minecraft, DQ Builders 1 or 2, etc.). With that $20 price tag, I may have to opt in for Digital.
If any other Dual Switch/PC owners haven't played and want to "try before you buy," they have a free (or pay what you want) demo on their website: https://hopfrog.itch.io/forager-demo
@geo-shifter Well look at that! And you should try the dragon quest builders series. I fell in love with it just due to the zelda elements of the game, the atmosphere in the game is actually pretty erie too! You would like it if you like Zelda. But I'll have to try out the demo then thanks!
@Chunkboi79 Albeit I’ve not bought any for my Switch, I’ve played DQB1 on Vita, DQB2 Demo on Switch, and Terraria and Minecraft on PC. I just know I’m going to spend chunks of hours on whatever I buy, so I just want to buy one I’m sure I’m going to like and dedicated time to one game in this genre.
@geo-shifter My only complaint about the first DQB is that the game resets you everytime you go to a new area. Sure it keeps the game from being boring and too easy. However, you lose a lot of different armor sets and building materials that could have been implemented in the future of the game. However, I heard the new one has a ton of quality of life improvements. I also saw it on Amazon for like $13 bucks for the ps4!
@Chunkboi79 I’ll probably put DQB2 under consideration after Astral Chain unless I finish Bloodstained really quick.
