In April last year, a listing for Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch Enhanced Edition on Nintendo Switch was discovered. At the time, Funbox had already released the turn-based strategy title on multiple other platforms.
If you happen to be a fan of 40K and were looking forward to playing this one on the go, unfortunately, it has been axed. JP's Switchmania broke the news after receiving an email the game had been cancelled.
Not long after this, the UK publisher Funbox Media confirmed it:
"Yes, we’re afraid so. It’s out of our control I’m afraid. We really wanted to release the game, but higher powers made the decision."
We've contacted Funbox ourselves, so keep an eye out for a more official statement soon.

What? That's too bad
This would have been my first time playing one of the games.
Unfortunate. Oh well...
Oh come on... I just want to see a good news today..
Awwww... (Padding so I can post this comment)
That's a DAMN shame...
Warhammer 40K is perhaps the greatest fantasy universe of modern times; most other beloved fantasy/sci-fi universes have been circling the drain of Clown World.
I'd like a video game (preferably an RPG) based on the Horus Heresy; the books are excellent.
One less mediocre game for Switch.
I can say it isn't anything special, having played the PS4 version. Still a shame for those who wanted to try it.
Ehh, no loss here.
An extremely disappointing way to wake up. I was very much looking forward to this. Space Hulk is supposedly still coming, but I hope we see more Warhammer games on Switch. Just port Space Marines, Dawn of War 2, Vermintide and Chaosbane (after it releases on PC) to the Switch.
Good riddance Federation Force 2.
People can still play one of the other old mediocre games being ported to switch.
Was hoping for Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor Martyr to release on Switch but whatever.
I suppose the Space Hulk game went the same way too? I had that pre-ordered for well over a year lol.
Guess I won't get to be introduced to Warhammer's actual universe in the near future after all.
I used to build and paint those warhammer figures back in the day, that was a lot of fun. Though the ones I modelled myself were lord of the rings design.
Well seeing as they've never made one single good Warhammer game yet and the ones thst they have run like crap on more powerful systems, this serves only as a blessing.
@Blizzia Go play on the 360
These companies seem allergic to money. It would hAave sold more copies on switch than other platforms added together. The irony is that they will then moan they have money troubles.
If you struggle to port a card game to the switch when So many massive complicated games run on it fine you are in the wrong job.
Well if they don't want to be on the most popular console at this current time. Fine.
@YANDMAN I'll pass. Switch or bust.
@Blizzia You should pass full stop, these games are dreanoughtfull
That's rotten. I guess I'll have to stick with playing my SG for now ;P

If you want to play this game any potato PC can run it.
Well that sucks for people who were looking forward to it on the Switch.
Those higher powers did not want those Switch sales. I would have considered getting the game.
@locky-mavo Personally prefer DoW 1, but having access to mods is also a part of what made it great for me.
Yeah, I'd prefer Chaosbane or Inquisitor Martyr, or even Space Marine... Used to play the latter online all the time, one of the only shooters I did. Bring it baaaaack.
