Earlier this week, we shared with you the first in a series of trailers set to be released for Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package's upcoming launch on Switch. Now, the second has arrived, and it's almost as bonkers as the last.
The footage in this video takes place after the failed robbery of The Stilwater 1st National Bank. The Saints are taken to the private plane of Phillipe Loren, bank owner and mastermind behind criminal organisation, The Syndicate. With two rival gangs on a plane, 30,000 feet above Stilwater, things get pretty hectic.
Just like last time, the footage you see is from the Switch edition of the game, all captured with the console running in docked mode at 1080p. It's nice to see Switch-specific footage be shared like this upfront, especially after the recent Mortal Kombat 11 fiasco.
Saints Row: The Third launches on 10th May for Switch; a fancy physical deluxe pack is already available to pre-order.
Are you thinking of picking this one up? Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments.

not sure this clip is suitable for a family based console news site?
@sparkyfilm
She'll be right. A little bit of violence never hurt anyone.
@sparkyfilm false - I don't let my family anywhere near my Switch.
Trailer looks great
Nintendo Life should start including Age restriction in their articles to stop the moaning from some people.
You know just like NO other gaming site does.
"Okay. I deserved that"
On the bright side, you guys just reiterated your "deserving" my money, too (yeeeeeah, that didn't sound entitled at all). One of the most eloquent trailers so far, naturally reminiscent of what already sold me on the franchise in the very prologue of SR.
@sparkyfilm the clip is rated mature in the very first frame, as per usual - and, according to the YT page, the very upload is "age restricted at uploader's request", too.
@nhSnork. you're right man, I just saw the pretty brutal stabbing sequence in the opening sequence, and with all that's going on with knife deaths on my local streets here in London, with dozens of kids losing their lives, it just struck a nerve. Didn't mean to come over as a prude.
@sparkyfilm compared to some prudes out there, you didn't. And I see where you're coming from.
My opinion on any “family site” stuff is it isn’t - it’s a gaming site. What do these parents do about YouTube? IGN? Pretty much any social network... Nintendo life please keep supplying us with ALL gaming content and don’t take up parenting for others.
Never played any of the titles, but the consensus I heard was that this was the weakest of the titles (apart from the first).
@FX102A
Can't speak for the first two, but 3 is definitely better than 4.
@sparkyfilm Please, this site isn't responsible for peoples kids. No form of media is.
If your children become [removed] up kids then its your own parenting to blame, if someone should be blamed.
@sanagelo89 Appreciate your grounded overview thanks. But do we really have to swear online like that to make a point? Can't we just stick to the community rules.
@sparkyfilm lol, it's about cartoon network violance. Game looks good either way...
@sparkyfilm Why?
Hyping this old ass game like it’s new lol gimme GTA
That trailer was delightfully ridiculous and I love it LOL
@Ayye-ant
Is GTA new then ??! !!! Lol
@Ayye-ant GTA is also an old ass game lmfao
@Woosh193 more new then saints row n still gets NEW updates dweeb
Has anyone said they bought this 10 years ago for their PC/PS3 for $8 and they're not going to rebuy it?
@MongolRaider newer then saints row duck
This trailer ruined the intro of the game. Why did they have to release this and spoiled the game?
Wonderfully OTT! Looking forward to this game.
@Ayye-ant
Why do cave men like yourself always resort to trying to insult people.
Grow up little boy lmfa off again
@MongolRaider
That ayye ant seems a bit of an idiot lol
@nintendolie
It’s an old ass game apparently so you should know how it starts lol
@Stocksy
“Nintendo life please keep supplying us with ALL gaming content and don’t take up parenting for others.”
Speaking as a parent of two young boys I....totally agree.
SWITCH memory cards. They'll never stumble upon Milanoir or any other child inappropriate game . . and save room for Bayonetta 3!
@Ayye-ant Good gravy, scale back your attack a bit. Didn’t need to go that far. Petty insults are evidence of the inability to produce any kind of real argument. “Homo..?” Yeah, not your best work and a fighting tactic of the adolescent.
@Ayye-ant
Homo?
Correct. Homo Sapien.
See, you do know something. Well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’m still debating on getting this, even though I beat it when it first released years ago. I remember it being hilarious crazy fun. The likes of which I hadn’t seen since Crackdown / Dead Rising 2. Still may get it, but there’s just so much stuff on my wish list, and the $35.99 (current sale price on US eshop) doesn’t exactly help.... if it was $25.99 I’d probably jump right on it.
Is this one better than SR4? 4 was my first SR game and I really enjoyed it for what it was (dumb action movie fluff). If this one is deemed to be even better than I will 100% be getting this.
@Ayye-ant Nope, I’m not. It’s just unnecessary. Think about what you just put in writing to that person. Then, think about what prompted you to write it. Truthfully, was it really worth that comment? If you’re honest with yourself, it shouldn’t take you long to figure out, it really wasn’t worth it and therefore unnecessary. There are far better ways to convey your message, without resorting to insults. You can do it, I believe in you, it just takes practice.
@Ayye-ant Buy GTA on another platform if you want it so bad. It's plainly obvious with the success of the Switch that Rockstar should have brought it over by now. They failed to do that, so THQ Nordic swooped in and capitalized on that absence. Probably to gouge interest for a 5th entry in the series.
@MongolRaider It is kind of strange that Rockstar has not ported the older GTA's over to Switch. On mobile I've had San Andreas, which was really good till Android updated and Rockstar didn't.
Forgot how insane Saints Row was, this clip has me ready to replay it on Switch
@Ayye-ant Yep... expectations on Switch are dirt low at this point. Same how AC:3 is a top 3rd party release.
Not only is this the "B Team" compared to GTA... it is not even the last one.
SaintRow 4 came out on PC back in 2013!
@Realness thank you for making sense on the internet, it’s a very rare quality these days 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@clvr 👍🏾
Lol can’t wait for that scene again with my female Boss. Laura Bailey is awesome.
@Agramonte
But SR3 is a by far better game than SR4, and to be honest, it's in many regards a better game than GTA V as well. Now, its not like they are very alike or anything, but I think SR3 is a funnier game to play.
@RasandeRose Both SR3 and SR4 have been available to everyone with a PC for dirt cheap on Steam for years now. And SR3 became XBOX One backward compatible back in 2017. Yet, Most still to this day choose to play GTAV instead (if given the option)
It is just hard to see the hype for a game I have never cared to download and play again (for free) in the last 6 years.
@Agramonte
Yes, GTA got a far bigger legacy than SR, so its not a surprise folk choose that game. But on Switch you can play SR portable, so price doesnt really matter...
@RasandeRose Yea, being able to play a game portable is great. But if I do not have any desire to re-play a game at home - not going to care to play it at the airport either... A new location is not going to change that.
SR5 or GTA6 on switch would be great.
@Agramonte
So, dont buy it then? The rest of us that enjoy playing regular home console games on a portable, we buy it and enjoy it. We can´t do anything about people who isnt interested in the portable factor, there is not a single product that is one fit for all...
@RasandeRose I don't buy them... That was my comment. I also didn't say I was not interested in the portable factor - I am not interested in re-playing old regular home console games anywhere.
If you do - good for you. Not everyone here has to enjoy playing what you do.
