Although the Switch version of Kantana Zero was refused classification in Australia and New Zealand yesterday, it's unlikely to impact the overall sales of the game elsewhere. In fact, the game's already done incredibly well in terms of pre-orders.
According to its publisher Devolver Digital, Katana Zero has quickly become the company's most pre-ordered Nintendo Switch game to-date. This means it's surpassed pre-orders for games such as The Messenger, Minit and Downwell.
If you're curious about what this game has to offer, it's described as a stylish neo-noir, action-platformer featuring "instant-death combat" and the ability to manipulate time. Below is the Switch trailer (warning: it contains mature themes):
Katana Zero arrives on the eShop later today. Will you be downloading it? Tell us below.

pre-ordered when it 1st went on the eshop can’t wait for this game.
Ohh yeah,. I didn’t preorder but I’ll definitely pick this one up. It looks like a mix of Hotline Miami and Dead Cells. Count me in.
Hot damn that looks good.
Wish I could preorder it.
Rock hard for Pedro... too much ninja games already
I don't preorder eShop games too often unless they're on sale as I can just grab them launch day but I did end up preordering this from the US eShop (because I can't get it from the Australian one). Pretty keen to play it and confident that I'll enjoy it.
Pretty sure it will be great, but I'll wait for the reviews. Pre-ordered Cuphead though!
No need to preorder an eshop game, that I’m buying day one anyway. Unless there’s a preorder discount incentive, I’ll just get it when it releases.
I haven't found any news piece about the game itself here in Nintendo Life, let alone a review. Just news about censorship and stuff.
Playing the game and having lots of fun. Highly matured indie game. No kids allowed 😎
I'm waiting for more information on gameplay when the game is released. No need to preorder if I have to pay full price for it
My, my...That does look good. Never pre-order but it looks like the perfect Switch game. I have to wonder how successful the switch would have been if it was not for this great Indie tilde wave washing over the industry.
Devolver's games are so good. Love that company
Yeah it was either this or cuphead... I chose cuphead. I will pick this up later.
I wonder how difficult this is? And is the difficulty more like Cuphead or Celeste?
Looks... Seriously hardcore. I'd consider it, but it's banned here in Australia ... I'll have to get it from a different region.
Luckily it's digital...
