With the newly announced 1TB micro SD card on the way, it seems now is the time to pick up a bargain on a 400GB micro SD card for your Nintendo Switch.
These mighty micro SD cards are normally quite pricey, but you can pick one up for only $62.30 as it's Amazon's Deal of the Day. For most people, 400GB will be enough storage space for all of the digital games they buy during the lifetime of the Switch. Grab one today while they are cheap!

$62 = £81? Have you guys got the conversation rate the right way around?
It's not a conversion. It's only cheap on Amazon US.
Ohhh definitely going to bite on that. Thanks for the info should have it by the end of the week!!!
When the price drops to about 50 bucks, I'll consider it. Shouldn't take too long now.
I'm still good on my 256gb but now I wish I got a 128gb so I can upgrade to a 400. I spent $120 a year and a half ago and these prices are just silly now.
I still remember Zip Disks. A whopping 100MB of storage for late 90s PC and Mac
I just bought a 256 for black Friday. But if the will Xbox live thing happens and more games come.... May save up for this card (hopefully on sale as well)
Thanks. It's only $10 or $15 cheaper but I'll take it. My 200 gb card is out of space.
@Spoony_Tech I bought my 256GB card for $30. and once I've filled it, I bet the 400GB will go down to $50 or less in sales as well.
Bought my 400gig when it was 79usd so not too big of loss. The most likely reason is the coming 1tb microSD is driving the price.
Man this is tempting but considering everything is on digital nowadays I had no choice, hope the price stay like that longer until my next pay day or so.
hmm I may jump on this. My surface pro needs some more space.
Definitely jumped on this. Tripled with my Amazon credit card rewards and gift card balance I have saved up, it only cost me $28
Tax return came in JUST on time this morning. Hopped right on this deal of the day and picked one up for delivery just a moment ago. Thanks for this tip!
@Ryu_Niiyama i really want to grab the 400gb for my s8 plus, could do with the space and then retire my 256gb in my switch, could work out well for me that way.
@subpopz same here waiting for the 1tb card prices to be affordable.
I read "trade your switch to a micro sd", luckily it actually says "treat"
I have a 200 gb card but think I'll grab this while it's cheaper
I already have one with 84G memory left. I’m wondering if I should just grab another one. 🤔🤔
It's £66 right now.. cheap as chips!!
They WOULD drop the price like 3 days after I bought mine. But I am not complaining. After installing mine I now have more data free than my old card had total.
@Heavyarms55 Help me please! My 128 is almost full, how easy is it to change over to a new card? Do I have to do some sort of transfer?
@dugan It is very easy, but it can be a little time consuming. You need a PC (windows or mac is fine, presumably linux too, but I have never used one of those).
1. Fully power off your Switch (not sleep mode!)
2. Remove the SD card and insert it into your computer (you made need an adapter - most micro SD cards come with one that lets you put it in a full size SD card reader)
3. drag the entire folder from the SD card to your PC (click and drag it, don't cut and paste or copy and don't modify any of the contents)
[note] depending on how much content there is and how fast your computer is, this could take a while, it took about 2.5 hours for my 150gb on my old card
4. Insert your new card the same way as the old one, then drag the fold from your PC to your new card (this will likely take as long as the first transfer did.
5. Once done, remove the card from the PC and put it into your Switch
6. Enjoy!
Final note, if your new card isn't new, be sure to reformat it. There are a variety of ways to do this but Nintendo has a free program you can download if you need: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27595/~/how-to-transfer-data-between-microsd-cards-for-use-on-nintendo-switch
@Heavyarms55 Thank you, thank you, thank you! I really appreciate it! I could have looked online, but you said you had just done it. And, I have seen and appreciated your posts in the past. Your explanation is thorough and makes sense. With more than 50 games on my switch, I want to do it right. Thank you, friend!
@dugan Not a problem. I don't mind helping with this sort of thing. I don't know why some people get so upset. If one is going to take the time to reply at all, may as well help, rather than getting angry and yelling at them to go search on their own.
On another note, even in the absolute worst case scenario, you would always be able to re-download any games from the eshop. Though depending on your network speeds and data limits, that could be quite bad. All your save data is kept on the Switch itself (something I think may be a problem in the long run) so you wont need to worry about losing your 972 hours of BotW (for example)
Yeah hard pass on Amazon it's a mixed bag whether you get an authentic SD card which is quite sad they do that even with cards bought directly from Amazon
@TossedLlama I'm familiar but never owned one. Yowza, that's an oldie! My first storage medium was a floppy disk for my Dad's Commodore 64
@canucksfan989 only Trolls would try to mislead here. You buy counterfeit you get burned. If you can't do your homework you - your own to blame.
@SwitchForce yeah not a troll just do a quick Google search. Amazon is known for selling counterfeit SD cards.
I'll just wait until the Switch is dead, buy a 1 TB card dirt cheap and download every game I own before the Switch eShop is shut down.
@canucksfan989 and here we go again. And simple search would also show Amazon has a statement saying to do your homework as well. And if you don't do your part to report counterfeit when you know it is then your in bed with the counterfeiter as well. Seller sells but buyers who buy from them and don't report it to get flagged or removed or seller banned then your also not helping. Counterfeit comes and go and if one buys from them and does not report it to Amazon to get refund or replacement from legit sources then your enabling them to keep on doing what they are doing. Also I bought Sandisk and local retailer without resorting to cheap counterfeit knockoff. Example if you see a 400 for 20USD think really long and hard about it.
@SwitchForce Wow do you work for Amazon or something? This has nothing to do with the obvious fake ones being sold for 20 bucks. It's the ones being sold by 3rd party sellers that look legit until you actually get the card and test it yourself. Face the facts Amazon doesn't do enough to stop these 3rd party sellers it shouldn't be the consumers job to stop this mess Amazon created. People do report and get refunds but guess what the problem still exists because Amazon hasn't done enough to put an end to it.
