The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild may have been released exactly a year and a half ago today, but there are still plenty of things to be uncovered in Hyrule and beyond. One person has taken that 'beyond' to the extreme, uncovering a new glitch which takes Link on a journey through an alternate Hyrule universe.
By executing a glitch during the game's The Master Trials DLC, YouTube user Mety333 has found a way to explore new, unseen areas within the game. Of course, these areas were never intended to be seen by players or even function correctly as any part of natural gameplay, and this results in some very strange, creepy, but fascinating finds.

We see areas where puddles of water momentarily turn into lava, burning Link and dealing damage in the process; plenty of weird and wonderful ethereal areas with floating cubes of light and other objects; and even a vertical drop which appears to be the edge of the world. Interestingly, this whole universe seems to be a hub-like area which contains all of the rooms found in the Trial of the Sword challenge, suggesting that these rooms were all placed into one handy location during the development of the game.
Check it out below.

Hmm. Talks about wanting to find the edge. Why not run in a straight line until you find it?
I always felt the on screen message that says you can't continue was kinda weak but this is not a solution.
@jobvd I think they should’ve had a message like,”you can’t go further, Hyrule needs you” or even better, “it’s too dangerous to go alone”
Even after 1 1/2 years and over 460 hours playtime, I still find some small new details. For example: Just yesterday, I followed a girl from a stable to Lurelin Village and depending where the NPC was, she responded differently when I spoke to her.
Totally unnecessary and I am sure everyone figured that out already, but I like small details like these.😁
GoaT Game
Neat!
Would be better if Tingle popped up and made that stupid noise and shook his head and poof! You disappear and reappear in Goron mine, naked, and you immediately burn to death. Hey, you wouldn't forget in a hurry, would you?
Water into Lava ?

That was an Imagination from young Riley (Inside Out - Disney Pixar).
I was sure that the last DLC was going to extend the map a bit, some event causing a path through one of the mountains or something along those lines. I was certain of this because of those missing shrines, why can't we have full hearts and full stamina. **single tear rolls down cheek**
"I feel a change in me"
"It's full of stars..."
and speedrunners will now bow down the Mety333
Oh man I could totally see them adding one more full blown DLC to this. Mainly just to explain what is really out there. We pretty much Samurai Jack’d our way through the game and could see a flicker of story left to tell.
I'm surprised there even is a "floor" to run around OOW like that. Usually in games the character either falls infinitely or dies and gets respawned back on ground level. I guess with Zelda having fast travel anywhere they decided it's not a Blocker if it happens.
Hyrule's equivalent of the Distortion World. Nice!
An enormous Great Palace dungeon that feels very Dark Souls with all new enemies or reprised ones from other games was too much to ask, I guess. Hyrule was apparently so destroyed that one could not even blow a flute at a dried lake or between three rocks to find a place to explore. Sorry. Venting. Cool glitch though.
Or maybe funny like "You can't go any further and link will become a gay" or "link will be autismed."
@liveswired yea... that’s not really funny at all and feels like it’s trying way too hard.
@DavidMac
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhghghgh that's not how tIMe wOrKS!!!!!!@&$!!!&@$$()&
Its weirdly beautiful. Like the botanical gardens of another dimension...
Makes me want to publish a science fiction novel.
I want to play the Dome of Darkness DLC.
@Snow-Dust I give him an A for effort. C for execution. Gotta know your audience, ya know?
This looks really cool though, and now that someone said it, an, "it's dangerous to go alone," prompt woulda been cool, instead of the message we got.
@aznable in universe a small wind instrument is able to change day to night, a temple (that exists in this game) is able to send Link back and forward in time by more than a decade. You’re telling me that it would be world breaking for some shrines and divine beasts to send Link back in time so we could finally get a good ending?
@DavidMac
Ocarina suuuuucked
up hours of my life in high school.
@aznable
Was probably all that time travel.
@DavidMac
To be fair though, in oot, you beat Ganon in the future, not in the past. If you changed history in botw, you end up paradoxing yourself far up the a$$
@aznable You beat Gannon in the future and the past. Someone hasn't beaten the game recently Ocarina creates three timelines.
Cool! The domes look like leftovers from the Alien invasion concept!
@Snow-Dust lol, so true.
Always cool to see glitches like this.
