Good Shepherd Entertainment is publishing ThirtyThree's "2D retro automatic runner" ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun on the Switch eShop early next month, it has been announced.
The game - which launched in 2016 on Windows, Steam and Mac - is focused on "one very big gravity-defying gun" and the action is controlled with just two buttons: one to fly up and the other to "blast forward through obstacles and death traps at breakneck speed".
120 levels are on offer, set across "a warped space-opera universe" which is "full of bizarre characters and moments". The Switch version will also feature the new Shield Mode which "empowers players with an energy shield and decreases the movement speed to help make the intense action more manageable, but no less heart pounding and exciting". Sounds like a hoot to us!
ATOMIK: RunGunJumpGun launches on February 8th and will cost £7.99. The trailer is looking very promising indeed, but is it enough to tempt you to part with your cash?

What trailer?
What a horrible title for a video game. Why not just call it ATOMIK?
£8 for an auto runner? REALLY?
Yeah, where is the trailer?
Disgusting art style.
I can't stand this style of all the indie games that look exactly like this.
Pass.
Surprised by all the negative comments. Gameplay looks pretty dope.
@TME Agreed.
I actually loved the "cut scenes"
I don't like this genre though, so I won't be getting it.
I have this game on iOS. I’m generally not into auto-runners, but this is one of the better ones I’ve tried. Snappy little game, with challenging, bite-size levels. A very good fit for the iOS platform, with fairly responsive touch controls.
Given the breadth of the Switch audience, I can see some people enjoying this on the Switch as well. Granted, the price point is not the best — ultimately, though, the Switch is a different market & a different business model than mobile.
Looks like a fun shooter but the fact that you only had one weapon in the entire game is quite disappointing. I'll give this a pass for now.
So this is basically just an evolution of Jetpack Joyride (AKA Machine Gun Jetpack)...
I was onboard till I saw the word "auto runner"
@InterSciFi Also looks to similar a game to be named so similar to "JumpNShoot Attack" released in 2015

I think this looks great, simple, quick arcade style gameplay if done correctly is better than any huge involved game.
