ESRB ratings have appeared for six new TurboGrafx-16 / PC Engine titles, revealing that these games are headed to the Wii U's Virtual Console service.
The sextet comprises of legendary shooter Lords of Thunder, action platformer Legend of Hero Tonma, sports sim Digital Champ: Battle Boxing, Konami blaster Detana!! Twin Bee, pool game Break In and - last but not least - Power Golf.
Do any of these games take your fancy, or do you already own them on the Wii Virtual Console? Let us know with a comment.

The Wii U VC is still kicking. I won't be getting these though, and I have a few of them on the Wii VC.
Erm, POINTLESS!
Hurry up with the Switch Virtual Console, COME ON!
think Nintendo should stop messing around with the Wii U service and get on with the switch VC
Bring them to Switch, that's where the sales are. I'd love to have Lord's of Thunder in my Switch shoot-em-up collection.
A shame these are coming a couple of years too late - would have filled the game droughts a little. I particularly would have liked to have upgraded Lords of Thunder to misuse the restore points as I found it fun but too challenging for my inner casual gamer...
Are they any good though? Power Golf and Break In aren't. They were scored 4 and 5 out of 10 respectively. Legend of Hero Tonma was given 5/10. Digital Champ Battle Boxing 3/10.
Detana!! TwinBee was given 8/10 by this site.

Lords of Thunder, it seems is good. It was given 9/10.

Those 2 are the only worthwhile games, the other 4 are stinkers.
@Bunkerneath No, it's not pointless. This is Pointless.
Isn't Lords of Thunder a CD ROM game? --goes and checks-- It is! Playing games on a CD is awesome!
The Johnny Turbo comic that advertised the game was hilarious!
@RadioShadow Remember the ad! Man, those were good times indeed!
The only PC Engine game I've purchased on the VC is Castlevania that's on the Wii VC only. I hope they move it over to the Wii U VC, as I'll gladly upgrade it for a couple of quid.
the only reason i can think of for them releasing this on wii u v.c. is so that they can resell it again on switch v.c. later on.
Man, this music!
I have this already on Wii VC, but I'll likely upgrade when it comes out.
What's a Wii U? Is that an addon for my Switch?
@JTMnM No, the Switch is a Wii U made portable.
LORDS OF THUNDER for me!!! Get these to Switch already!
NEC Turbografx 16 PC-Engine has returned! on the Nintendo Wii U
@masterLEON soundtrack on Lords of thunder is so awesome that I put it in my iTunes years ago!! 😂👍😃
Already have Lords of Thunder on my Vita so will skip. Though if they had released them on the Switch I would have purchased immediately as I tend to have quick plays on them and the Switch just does that so much better.
Plus I like to play it in "handheld" mode and frankly the Wii U Gamepad's screen cannot compare to the Switch's.
Its strange to see these releases but there must be some money to be made; or the legal paperwork just took ages and they decided "meh, release it anyways".
I haven't turned on my Wii U since I got my Switch. I just want them to port everything. The Switch is, what the Wii U should have been.
Wii Who?
This is to balance out that Dance game coming to Wii and not Wii U.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE The Wii U is alive!! Dance with me!! ( From one gamer stuck on the Wii U to another. )
Ahem... This is cool, I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy ANY VC games since the Switch was announced. I need to know what will happen to my digital purchases a year from now. Will I be able to transfer them or not? That's all I want to know... lol
Those wouldn't be my first choice but then again neither would be the Wii U for them.
Wii U? What's that?
Lords of thunder is really good. Would wanna play it on a CRT TV thiugh
Why isn't Earthbound Beginnings on the 3DS NES VC?
How about smash 64?
No Gradius 2 or Rondo of Blood... though I have them on Wii VC. I'm still behind on getting some of the other Bonk and Star Soldier games anyway.
Lords of Thunder is a must own game
It always blew my mind why Nintendo only continued the VC on Wii U in recent years when the 3DS and New 3DS are far more popular and plentiful devices where these games could be enjiyed anywhere by a wider audience
You really have to wonder at the mentality of releasing these games now when the Wii U is essentially dead. Why not release these a couple of years ago during the long software droughts when they could have sold really well?!
Probably had these games in development for a while, and are releasing them just to get something out of them. Not their fault the Wii U didn't last long enough.
Otherwise, I'm glad for it, and will play a few of these. Still play my Wii U, and will for some time.
Wish they were for 3DS or Vita. I'd get all the SHMUPs.
I remember snagging Pac-Land (original copy was stolen in 1991), Legend of Hero Tonma, and Jackie Chan's Action Kung-Fu in January 1994 at the local Toys R Us before they stopped selling TG16 games.
All were $20 each.
The wii u keeps on rocking
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Just to note: review standards have changed since 2007-9, and there's a chance something like Break In or Legend of Hero Tenma would be better recieved. I mean, the biggest complaint about Break In I saw in that review was that it was a no-frills Pool Game, which doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, just...not exceptional.
