For some mysterious reason one minigame in 1-2-Switch has captured the hearts and minds of gamers across the globe. Of course we're talking about the cow milking game, for which our friends over at Tiny Cartridge did such a good job of capturing the delicious awkwardness of playing.
Alarmed by this over-simplification of the joys of real life cow milking, the Billings Farm & Museum in Vermont recently issued Nintendo with a challenge to come down to their farm and see who can milk the fastest.
In a surprising move (considering the fact their leash is normally so tight) Nintendo's social media team readily accepted the challenge, and there was even a bit of banter (or 'classic bantz' for you Brits) on the Facebook thread.
Which members of Nintendo's team would you like to see travel to Vermont for this epic challenge? We've already seen JC Rodrigo's epic virtual cow milking skills, so he'd perhaps be the best candidate.

We are Nintendo.
We challenge all players.
You cannot out-milk us.
I've always wanted an Official competition between Nintendo and... Billings Farm & Museum-!
lol, I hope it's recorded so we can see.
Mooo....!!!
The cows will screaming aloud ! XD
On the one hand, I do think this is funny. Especially those last two trades mentioning being in their respective fields for 100 years. But on the other, I'm thinking - why? I hope this doesn't take away from any games being developed. They're on our time!
@ThatNyteDaez Do you really think they are sending any developers?
I'm holding out for the real money matches - actual soldiers vs. Call of Duty developers, and real archaeologists vs. Team Tomb Raider. Expect a lot of job openings at Activision, and some very confused archaeologists.
What has Nintendo been milking for 100 years? Mario?
Splatoon: The Milk Wars. King Reginald vs. Old McDonald in the milk off of the century. Pasteurizers at the ready!
@JasmineDragon I'd rather expect some confused developers with trowels, brushes and rubber boots.

Let's-a... milk?!? I hope they send a guardian.
@ThatNyteDaez - You can probably count on Odyssey being delayed because of this. If I were you, I would cut their salaries.
Publicity stunt?
Publicity stunt.
Kinda surprised at the current lack of negative comment from some members of the community.
I got to playing the milking game in 1-2-Switch, and it's a surprising amount of fun.
I will say, however, that I have never tried miling an actual cow,. I'd love to try though.
Best of luck to the Nintendo reps taking on this one!
@GeminiSaint
What other kinds of publicity are there?
Nintendo vs. cow. Whoever wins, we lose.
I did not expect eSports to moove in this direction.
This is wonderfully goofy. I'm looking forward to seeing this brawl.
TREMBLE, YE MORTALS. THE MEMES HAVE ARRIVED. SKELETOR WILL NOW JOIN IN FOR COW JERKING SESSIONS FOR 1, 2, MILK. ENJOY.
@ThatNyteDaez Yes, because video game companies live only to serve us...
Considering my upbringing...not only is this close to home, but it's also EPIC. XD I look forward to seeing the results!
@Pod Many, many kinds, such as regular advertisements on TV or printed media.
For reference, here's Wikipedia's article on "publicity stunt":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publicity_stunt
(tl;dr: publicity stunts are special events designed to promote something)
@ThatNyteDaez I really wouldn't worry too much about that
Lol pretty cool, nice one Nintendo!
@GeminiSaint
I have worked in publicity myself, so I kind of asked just to be snarky. I'm just curious when you label something that is obviously of cross-promotional value a "stunt".
@PlywoodStick thank's for this you made my day
@Bomberman64
Our wallets.
Not funny. Speed-milking cows is not only disrespectful to the cows (by objectifying them), it also counts as animal abuse. Are Greenpeace or other organisations aware of this?
And in case anyone wants to throw in that mass production of milk, eggs and meat is already disrespectful and abusing animals: Yes, I know, but this speed-milking challenge only makes it worse.
@shani
There are some video on Youtube about Speed Milking.
There is also a main procedure to milking without abusing the cows.
I played more 1 2 Switch this weekend with friends and this game is always a highlight! A great game for robust laughter!
no thanks
Little do they know Nintendo holds the championship Cow milking trophy of 1917. Their A** is Grass
@Anti-Matter Hm, I just skimmed through a few videos, but tbh it doesn't look that cow-friendly...
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nintendo for the win?
Lol!
