Splatoon's massive update to version 2.0 is live right now, and in this new plethora of content we're gifted with two brand new weapons in the form of the Heavy Splatling and the Slosher.
The Slosher is a glorified bucket, but don't let its humble origins fool you, this beast can lob a huge amount of ink over a wide area and also very effective at attacking foes over walls. The Heavy Splatling is what it sounds like, a gatling gun. This thing charges up like a Charger but instead of releasing a single powerful blast of ink, this weapon unleashes a flurry of your colour as its namesake would suggest.
Check out the videos below for a better understanding of how these new weapons work!

Can't wait to play this weekend!!
2 new weapon types just in time for splatfest!
Death to all sloshers! I hate those things. They have killed me the most out of any weapon.
The new weapons are really interesting, and show that the devs don't plan on just sticking to the Charger-Roller-Rapid formula.
With the Slosher, we get a much more aggressive weapon than any other. Coverage is a bit difficult to get a feel for, and mobility is rahter lacking, but this thing literally drowns anyone easily. And since the range is impressively wide without too much spraying, it's a reliable pressure weapon.
The Heavy Splatling is pretty much the polar opposite. Its range is insane, just like the fire rate and sheer power, but dare to rush into a battleground, and you won't even get to charge it. The charging period gives this weapon a very painful delay, so finding a safe spot or using a splash wall as cover is elementary to being effective with this monster. Also, you're very dependant on keeping your ink tank in check, because this weapon is crippingly useless for quick defense - if somebody's onto you, just try to run.
It's not fully clear yet, but I find these two new weapons to be very well-balanced and distinctively different from the available weapons. And playing either is a lot of fun! Hopefully, we'll see more versions of these, soon!
SPLATOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!
Let me guess - there is a SPLATLING GUN ...
Yesterday, while at work, my wife texted to tell me our two year old snapped the Splatoon disc in half or 'orange and green' as he calls it. I thought I hid it well on top of the upright piano out of sight from him but, he tried climbing the piano to retrieve it so she handed him the case because loves looking at the cover art and that's when it happened mere hours before the update. I thought of going to gamestop on my break to pick up a new copy but she was like, "don't worry! I ordered a copy for you on Amazon - it'll be here in about a week." Ugh
Splatling= op range, rate of fir, and damage
Love that TF2 reference.
I love the tagline XD
