Nintendo doesn't have a 100% record of winning patent cases, but it does win the majority. It often comfortably sees off particularly frivolous claims on broad technology patents, too - notable defeats have generally come against companies with which Nintendo has previously worked or liaised, not businesses that hoover up patents in the hopes of pay-offs.
This time around Secure Axcess has been seen off, with ten separate patent aspects that placed claims on the DS and 3DS families dismissed. Secure Axcess is a business that offers 'Patent Evaluation Services', so the outcome of the court case suggests that it was somewhat trying its luck.
This win has been announced not long after another patent case related to Nintendo handhelds was thrown out, so Nintendo's legal team is certainly earning its fees at the moment.

Go Nintendo!
Underneath this comment box I see 'Emoji Cheat Sheet.' Thanks Nintendolife!
Man... everybody wants a cut of Nintendo's savings, it seems. Good job on defeating another patent hoarder in court.
Nintendo sure is irresistible :neckbeard:
Can someone please get a patent on patent trolling and take all of these patent trolls to court for infringing on that patent?
Joking aside, I'm so sick of hearing about these things. Good on Nintendo's legal team for making another patent troll waste their money.
Ah, yes. Yet another patent troll defeated. Today is a good day...I think Ill have some cake.
It's good to know that The Big N wins again, but can we get news of when the standard New 3DS comes to the US?
Another patent troll bites the dust
Good for Nintendo
With the track record that Nintendo has on these kind of cases, you'd think that companies would think twice about taking them to court. What a waste of money...
I can't imagine the amount of lawsuits filed against Nintendo in hopes of pay outs. I guess when your the number 1 video game company in the world it goes with the territory. Yes I said Number 1! Because they are still number 1
