To mark the launch of Splatoon, Nintendo UK has teamed up with Adrenaline Alley skatepark in Corby to offer a pretty unique promotional event.
Adrenaline Alley has been "splatted" with Splatoon art and 4 Wii U pods - complete with the game, of course - have been installed for the Summer months.
Nintendo UK has released a video which shows the park in action, as well as skateboarders Lois Pendlebury, Tom Bailey, Sam Pulley and Salar Kooshiki.

Aren't people going to think its a skating game?
@G0dlike There is a skating rink arena in Splatoon, so I don't think the venue matters.
Pretty nice, though not much publicity and I don't recognise Corby as being a go-to day trip destination. Still, it is supposed to be the leading indoor skate ramp centre so really worth checking it out, especially if they do some kind of competition/tourney.
@G0dlike I think it references the skater style of the game - clothing, attitude etc. Some people might think it's a skating game, but they won't have to look hard to see it's not. Unless they're really not too bright and then, it probably won't matter...
Wasn't trying to be negative guys, am absolutely in love with the game and having been playing it pretty much constantly for 2 days now. Just expressing an opinion 😉

Well the new PR company nintendo hired are earning their money at least, quite an eye catching idea.
okay so while i think the pool looks freaking awesome (i would love to skate there!), i kinda question nintendos PR strategy. their last commercials show nothing from the games themselfs. the new yoshi game is advertised with the amiibo figure and now splatoon is advertised with skating? wtf?

@SSB4Life_get_it No. in Europe there is no amiibo pack with all three Splatoon amiibo. The squid amiibo is only available within the Limited Edition of the game. Which is what they advertise here.
@scamander It still sucks you can't buy that one separately...I want to use it but I don't want to open the only one I got. I know, I know...its silly but I want to keep one of each amiibo mint for my collection.

@AyeHaley It's a bit of a hassle, but why don't you just buy two of the Splatoon Limited Editions and sell one copy of the game?
