The Nintendo Download update isn't always gospel - today's North American update didn't mention Stretchmo, but it's now available to download for free on the 3DS eShop; it's called Fullblox in Europe and is also available in that region.
The latest free-to-play dalliance from Nintendo, this brings us the return of Mallo and a whole load of new puzzles, on top of the usual stage creation tool. Seven puzzles are available with the free download, and then there are a host of options to purchase more.
- Mallo's Playtime Plaza ($4.99): 100 progressively challenging levels that introduce the basics of the game.
- Poppy's Sculpture Square ($2.99): 50 puzzle levels shaped like animals and objects.
- Corin's Fortress of Fun ($2.99): 50 levels featuring new gizmo obstacles and enemies.
- Papa Blox's NES Expo ($2.99): A treat for retro fans that features 50 levels based on classic NES characters.
There are also bundles to save a little bit of money.
- Bundle featuring all four attractions ($9.99).
- Bundle containing "Poppy's Sculpture Square," "Corin's Fortress of Fun" and "Papa Blox's NES Expo" after "Mallo's Playtime Plaza" has already been purchased ($6.99).
- Bundle of the remaining three attractions after purchasing either "Poppy's Sculpture Square," "Corin's Fortress of Fun" or "Papa Blox's NES Expo" ($8.99).
The gimmick of this one is in the name, as you can 'stretch' blocks and also work with more depth than before.
This series has certainly been popular in the past on 3DS and Wii U - are you going to download this free version and consider paying for more?

Ohh nice surprise release.
I'll make sure to try it.
Yes, thank goodness we also get it today! I love Pushmo, it's quickly become one of my favorite Nintendo IP's. I've never enjoyed a puzzler this much since Catherine. And they pretty much have very similar gameplay so.
The stretch, pop-out things the blocks do from the side in this game looks so weird. I imagine it could probably change the way puzzles are solved drastically. I wonder how much I'll get out of this, or if I'll just go back to Pushmo and Crashmo. Either way very happy we got this new entry!
To be honest I don't know why the games get so much praise... This is literally just the tutorial levels then you are expected to pay, and IMO, if you have either of the other games there's no real need. Especially when you consider they have that build-your-own-level thing.
I think it's funny how the game is called "Stretchmo" since I feel like Nintendo has stretched this concept for all it's worth.
I am downloading this right now!
@Spectra_Twilight I'm very well aware that each game has a small difference over the last. My argument is that it isn't enough of a change. I have the first 2 games on 3DS and have already tried this new one, so no need to watch the trailers, thank you.
Can I change my vote on which game I'll be downloading first?
This is one of my favorite Nintendo franchises, super stoked!
Still working my way through Pushmo world. Stretchmo will have to wait.
Hippa Land > Stretchmo > Fullblox
How many packs do you need to buy to get the level creator? My son has been having fun making levels on Pushmo World on the Wii U (why isn't this cross-buy? Wii U needs some free-to-start love too.) and I can see him spending $5 for the 100 level starter pack to get the level editor but not sure he would want the other 3 bundles so maybe not willing to spend $10.
Played the demo, and it's only like 5 minutes of basically just the tutorial and then one easy puzzle. I like that it's more complex than Pushmo, but I feel like I just want to buy the NES Expo because I hated the long buildup of easy puzzles in Pushmo and really only liked the NES stages, but then I hesitate to do so, because if I change my mind and want everything later it's still going to cost more in total.
At least it only costs 10% more in Canadian dollars than US like they actually paid attention that the CAD has gone up a little or realized we stopped buying the games when they were 25% more.
Nice!!! Will buy today for sure!!!
@Moon
The three games have such vastly different mechanics. You could never recreate one puzzle within one of the other games, the gameplay is just too different.
This reminds me, I really need to finally finish the campaign in the original Pushmo...
@EarthboundBenjy Maybe you couldn't recreate the exact same puzzle, but essentially you pull/push blocks until you are able to get to the goal. I wouldn't say they're vastly different mechanics.
I know this is completely off topic, but how is Pushmo World? Would it be worth getting if I have the original, i.e. are they mostly the same levels?
@ThomasBW84
if you're welsh why are you referring to the game by its american title?
Jeepers haven't finished pushmo world but yeah going to get this. I actually think this is my favorite newer franchise (aside from W101) in years.
@Moon Don't knock until you've tried each one. What you see as a small difference feels like a drastic change. Even if a Pushmo is somehow recreated into a Crashmo, you have to look at it with different rules in mind. Stretchmo is more similar to Pushmo than Crashmo, but the fact that you can stretch the sides out adds a new layer of depth to the mechanics of the original game.
Bought the first three games so of course I will be getting this. Great value, lovely graphics, clever puzzles and more Papa Blox!
Mallo for Smash Wii U/3DS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow the names for the european releases get more stupid everytime. fullblox? seriously?
not sue about this one, pushmo was pretty good, crashmo was bad, didnt play pushmo world,
I got Pushmo 3DS for reaching Club Nintendo Gold status and was instantly hooked on it! Stretchmo comes at the perfect time now that I've completed all the original puzzles for Pushmo and was tempted to purchase Crashmo.
@6ch6ris6
well i think that the european title make sense with the word full as the blox area(not sure the name is called) will already be filled up once you pull blocks sideways or forward/backward
(i do have a lot of question why they chosen that title[but i think it will relate to the Japanese title or something like that])but i'm just glad that the new game involving mallo release at the same day in EU and NA and it just surprised me that the game was release out of the blue
@Mr-X9000
i think that fallblox (crashmo) is interesting(i did play it) as the game formula have make the game more enjoyable(i do get stuck as some stages) but it is your opinion so i'll respect that anyway
ps: haven't played pullblox world (pushmo world) as well:(
I gotta say, this is some free-to-play I feel I can get behind. I mean, a F2P Feul/Gem system has it's benefits for those low on cash and time to spare, but I more prefer to buy the game/content outright if I can afford it at the time.
I need to know about the level editor too.
Loved pushmo. Thoroughly burned on crashmo. That one left a bad taste in my mouth...I can't say I'm diving into this one
@NbaJunkie
do it! crashmo DID suck, but this one is way better.
Pushmo was great
Chrashmo was terribad
Stretchmo is the by far the best
Once you get to challenges 3 the game becomes a masterpiece! So glad I bought this one! I have all 3, finished the first one and got bored with the second. I am already a little too hooked on this one and will be sad when I beat all 250 levels (even though there is the studio, I've never gotten too into user based levels)
Love the Pushmo series. But no way in heck am I downloading this. Not going to support this F2P nonsense.
And what's with the hate on Crashmo? Much better game, so many improvements on the first, which is also good but not as good as Crashmo.
@XCWarrior But it's not free to play nonsense at all. Basically, it's a demo, then $10 if you want to buy the full game.
The NES levels look pretty sweet, might pick them up
I'm still wrapping up pushmo, and its a real challenge for me, I can't imagine this.... I'm at 14 hours and still have one last "world" to go.
@Samuel-Flutter
Pushmo World is classic, a must-own in every sense of the word. Don't hesitate to grab that one- it's easily the best of the series (Possibly not anymore? I haven't played more than 10 levels of Stretchmo so this very well may top Pushmo World).
You know what I really like about Stretchmo? Besides the test model of just buying the game piece meal or in a complete bundle (which I think is brilliant btw)? One of the packs has enemies in it! It seems to be like a platforming puzzle level, like Mario meets Pushmo. Really awesome idea that has me excited to play it- unfortunately I'm a completionist and have to start with the basic levels and work my way up to those three star or four star packs.
Curious, how do I access shared levels in Stretchmo? I go to the creation tool (says create OR PLAY LEVELS CREATED BY OTHERS), but I can't find where to go to browse those levels. Is it QR code sharing only or something?
I'd just buy the bundle. Kinda a no-brainer there. I would've bought the game for $10 anyway!
@Tops
I loved crashmo! Why was is disappointing to you?
I never tried crashmo but I didn't like the look of it. It seemed like a gilded lilly after the excellent simple gameplay of pushmo
A game with 250 levels, highly polished, with a level editor and gives the possibility to try for free and buy the whole thing for only $10?
It can't get better.
Never really been a fan of Pushmo. Only puzzle games I like are Panel de Pon series and Meteos.
First time the American name makes more sense than the European.
Strechmo is better than all the other mo' games
Bought the $9.99 bundle pack. Awesome sauce;)
@Tops
Yeah, that makes sense. Pushmo was more of a "Figure it out as you go" sort of thing. Crashmo was different for sure. I personally liked them both though. Still haven't played world.
I wonder why its called "Fullblox" in UK. Stretchmo makes more sense, and it also stays true to the rest of the games titles.
@XCWarrior
Its not like that, its more like a demo... And then you just buy the game when you're done. Its only a "F2P" if the micro transactions never stop. This you just pay $10 and you're done!
But yeah, I hear you. I hate F2P as well.
@ianolivia
Why do y'all think Crashmo sucked? I really don't understand... ;(
Already downloaded 😄
@Bat-Moves98 Coming from someone who like Crashmo but not as much as Pushmo, the puzzles in Crashmo are really peculiar and if it's not your type of thing you'll get lost pretty fast. Almost everyone liked Pushmo, but Crashmo is only for certain types of puzzle fans (i.e. people felt betrayed because they didn't find it as playable as Pushmo)
@Bat-Moves98 because it was pretty much i wanna be the guy on crack, thats why.
@ianolivia
What does that mean? I'm confused...
Its not a big deal, I understand why people would prefer the other games. Its very different, but I still liked it alright.
@Bat-Moves98 it means the game is pretty much impossible.
Still playing through the first Pushmo, since I got it for my free CN award. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I can see the appeal.
