Update: Version 1.1 is now live following the update issues across Europe earlier today.
Original: Since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, a series of glitches have surfaced allowing players to perform a number of outlandish feats.
With this in consideration, Nintendo is currently in the process of pushing out the 3DS remake's very first patch. Version 1.1 – already live in Japan – most notably fixes the "Honey & Darling" glitch, replacing Link's sword with the Ocarina or a bottle, and also stops random game crashes occurring.

3DS owners across Europe are receiving prompts to update to Version 1.1, but so far have been unable to complete the download due to the update being released just a little bit earlier than expected.
While you wait for the latest update to sort itself out, share any glitch experiences you've had in the comments, and also take a look at the Fierce Deity Link glitches we've previously reported on:

Not even the Moon is safe from stability.
Honey and Darling glitch? Help me understand.
In all honesty, I kinda hope they don't patch the different mask-related glitches (if they didn't already; I think the Honey & Darling glitch is unrelated.. though I'm not exactly sure what this glitch is). Those mask ones were pretty funny, and it's especially fun being able to use Fierce Deity everywhere!
Why were these glitches not addressed before the game was released? I know these are similar to some of the OoT glitches, which were also reminisent of the original OoT's glitches, so...maybe trying to keep nostalgic glitches in tact as well...?
Well it's more than you can say for Sonic Boom for WiiU...
@EmmatheBest I think OOT and MM are just glitchy in general, and since these were ported and not completely rewritten from scratch, there's probably lots of old code that can cause issues.
Do these glitches ruin the gameplay experience? I haven't watched the videos because I don't want to spoil myself from them.
@Artwark From what I've seen so far, they're not that easy to trigger accidentally. The effects can be pretty significant though.
is this patch mandatory to use my game save like the ssb patches.
If any of these patches affect the Fierce Diety's mask anywhere glitch, I'm not downloading. The game plays fine for me, and Fierce Diety's mask already should have been usable anywhere. I mean I would think if it were prohibited anywhere it'd be IN boss rooms not out of them.
I've experienced this glitch before (it is also in the N64 version). Basically, if you go to the Honey and Darling gallery (particularly if are shooting for the 3 day in a row heart piece), there's a chance your Ocarina was remapped to the B button. Know what this means?... well take a wild guess which button the sword uses. What's weird is you can still use your B button attacks in your mask forms. (Using the Song of Time doesn't fix this glitch either, by the way.)
Anyways, the fix in-game is to get on Epona and hop back off (which worked for me). This remaps the buttons back to the original settings. If you are early in the game before getting Epona...well, you can try to get through temple 2 using your mask forms to attack. Or delete your save...yeah let's not go there. Let's just say I'm glad Nintendo is fixing it. This is not a fun glitch to mess with and should be patched. I was freaking out on what to do when this happened to me. I had to thoroughly comb through countless forums to find the fix I mentioned.
"3DS owners across Europe are receiving prompts to update to Version 1.1, but so far have been unable to complete the download due to the update being released just a little bit earlier than expected"
Hmm, strange. By the way: Honey and Darling are sooo annoying...in a good way!
@EmmatheBest I think some glitches they wont patch! Like the feirce deity Link glitch, maybe they patch that but i dont think so!
Only glitchy thing I've done is get the piece of heart on the clock tower early by constantly side hopping.
I actually tried out the exploit to get to Great Bay as a Goron yesterday. It's really easy to perform and it just feels hilarious how a rather vital part of the game, aka getting Epona, could be bypassed just like that. It also speaks a lot for people's creativity.
I cant stand these guys.. I have to read about it
I veey often get those random crashes... I could probably benifit from the patch but... I love my bottle mask glitches... Decisions decisions...
Well since these glitches occur when you go out of your way to make them happen, I will not download this patch. I'd like to have the option of performing the glitches since they can't make it mandatory to download it.
@Xenobound94
Thanks for the explanation. I played the original N64 version all the way through to 100% back in the day and never encountered the problem. I suspect my save game might not quite still be there on the cartridge however, battery backup gods save me
If this effects the bottle glitch in anyway I'm not going to download it.
@Justaguest I agree. The commentary is painful.
@Porky FYI, you can always delete the update data (at least on the cartridge based version) of any game. It's not a permanent thing, in case you ever wanted to go back.
The only glitches I've experienced were the ones I wanted to happen. So far, this game is super stable as is. If a patch happens for North America, I'll just avoid downloading it.
Even if the patch fixes fun glitches, you can always just delete the patch to mess around with them again.
@Lizuka Well, it didn't work for me, sadly. In fact, I tried going back to the first day multiple times and it still did nothing. Are you sure you had the same glitch as me?
Oddly, the patch downloaded ok for me on my New 3DS, but when I play the cartridge on my original 3DS I don't even get a prompt for it. Don't think it's going to be compulsory like SSB and Mario Kart, since Majora has no online functionality.
Even those games you mentioned don't technically force you, you just have to launch the game without the wifi switch on, I believe. I haven't updated SSB since after the first update since I was tired of my replays not being compatible. I sacrifice the online gameplay, of course.
@Yosher From what I've heard, this patch already fixed that.
