It was confirmed in today's Nintendo Direct that Etrian Mystery Dungeon - Atlus and Spike Chunsoft's upcoming RPG Dungeon-crawling mash-up - will be up for grabs on the 3DS in North America, digitally and physically, on April 7th. For those of you who are collectors and/or eager fans, pre-orders and first run copies will also come with a bonus soundtrack CD, though its contents are as of yet unknown.
For those of you out of the loop, Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a crossover game that aims to mix the classes and party system of the Etrian Odyssey series with the randomly generated dungeons that Mystery Dungeon is famous for. According to Atlus, there is approximately "a metric buttload of exploration" as well as an additional "metric buttload of customization". Chock full of monsters, skill trees, quests, loot, and more, this certainly sounds like a buttload of fun.
Also released today alongside the release date news was the following trailer for well-known Etrian Odyssey class the Landsknecht, a swordsman that may be a vital part of any team.
Will you be exploring these dungeons come April 7th? Let us know in the comments below.

Oh right, I forgot about this. I should probably finish one of the other Etrian games at some point.
Since I own all of 'em.
@Quorthon All of them? I only just found out that this was a thing! Until recently, I thought Mystery Dungeon was an original pokemon spinoff, not its own franchise.
Way better, Amazon had it as March 10th and I doubt I would have been able to get it and Code Name STEAM 3 days apart.
@EvisceratorX
Well, all of the Etrian Odyssey games at any rate. Never played a Mystery Dungeon game. Maybe it's time to see what I'm missing out on.
@EvisceratorX What Mystery Dungeon isn't just Pokemon?!? Mind = blown...
Looks like the 3DS's lineup for the 1st half of 2015 is filling up nicely.
North American lineup:
Majora's Mask 3D - February 13th
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate - February 13th
Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy + - February 13th
Code Name STEAM - March 13th
Fossil Fighters Frontier - March 20th
Story of Seasons - March
Etrian Mystery Dungeon - April 7th
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - April
Puzzle & Dragons Z/Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Edition - May
SMT Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker - Spring
Not a bad lineup. Not a whole lot of genre diversity though.
Edit: Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX is coming on May 26th. That means that Fire Emblem is the only 3DS title we know of coming to North America after this half of the year.
@PvtOttobot
Right!? The only time I saw "Mystery Dungeon" was after Pokemon. Turns out it's actually a big Japanese series that frequently crosses over with other franchises.
@IceClimbers
All pretty shocking for a platform that had nothing in those months over 24 hours ago...
And I'm in Europe still waiting for confirmation that they will bring this game here.
Atlus used Suspense on Europe! It's super effective!
Guess I'll just be waiting here, like always...
I too thought Mystery Dungeon was just a Pokemon thing, hahaha!
Still going to wait for the reviews. I'm not sure I'm interested enough to buy at this point.
I know I won't be buying. Too many games on the backlog and Mystery Dungeon is not exactly my cup of tea. I already am playing through EO IV and having a blast. Will get Untold I afterwards for my EO fix
