When we last left the caravan players can expect to to travel with in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, they were about to enter Hearth, a town known for its metalworking, but it seems the village has fallen on hard times ever since the lava flow that powers the forges has stopped. Solving the village's problem involves our merry band of strangers to hygiene taking down a nerscylla, a member of the spider-like chelicerata class introduced in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, that's all but guaranteed to put some zing into any arachnophobe's day:
In addition to being very beginner-friendly with outlining the Monster Hunter series' gameplay fundamentals and basic strategy, the video also showcases the new platformer-like features of more vertically-oriented environments and the ability to climb directly onto monsters for additional ways to attack; it culminates in victory, with a few shots of some of the nerscylla-themed armour and weapons available, and a well-earned congratulations from the village elder.
Is this epic yet accessible battle further whetting your appetite for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate? Are you hoping videos like this might help you win some new friends to play with? Are you just lusting after that gorgeous nerscylla armour? Remember to dodge those web fluid shots and let us know in the comments!

SO excited for this!
This game is pretty much guaranteed to be my personal game of the year for 2015! Can't wait to hunt more monsters and craft awesome armory with my bro!
OK EARLY NEXT YEAR, The New 3DS should come out with it!!!
I wonder when "early next year" is...
Me want Wii U version...
Quick, kill the spider!
Couple points of note, did I see a 3 phase charge for the great sword? Also I think I seen readable text there. Not that the 3ds version of MH3U was bad but the console version are usually horrible.
Finally, Nerscylla gets some love!
Seeing this Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate footage makes me really wish the game released now.
I suffer from arachnaphobia so this isn't good news for me. I skip a lot of western RPGs because of their overuse of spiders as a generic enemy, so I hope that these are not widespread in MH4U.
@Tsurii897 In some cases yes, there seemed to be a little bit of tearing In some of the text but at least it wasn't as dinky as the text on the Wii and Wii U.
AWESOME! looks cool! I can't wait for it! I have already pre-ordered and videos like this will help me understand the game since this is the first one I will get in the series.
It's great to see they are making efforts to make the game a bit more accessible by explaining the basics!
Ugh, I just know Nerscylla and Najarala are going to give me a hard time in this game.
Can't wait! I'll miss some of the water bosses, but I'm loving the new fighting mechanics. So glad I got this pre-ordered for $30 last month.
Looks awesome. I'm torn on the whole water boss thing. On the one hand, the controls were a huge pain to get used to and you were slow to the point of being almost helpless. I'm glad that I don't have another set of tedious underwater missions to look forward too, but they did have some good bosses and if they made the controls better, it could be a very cool feature.
I'm hoping for a Wii U version. Frankly, I'd rather have stable Wifi, HD graphics and a big screen over shaky(at best) Wifi and 3D gameplay (which, albeit cool, doesn't add a ton to the game.
I caved and bought a NES 3DS XL and XL CPP just for this game. Why not wait for New 3ds XL? we won't be getting that any time.
soon.
