Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games is set for release this Christmas.
"We are thrilled to partner with Nintendo and ISM on the ground breaking title," commented Hisao Oguchi, president of Sega.
"For the first time, two of the world's greatest games' characters come together to compete in the world's greatest sporting event and we couldn't be more excited."
To be honest I'm not totally sure on how enjoyable an olympics sports game will be; it's not quite the collaboration I'd hoped for but for Sonic and Mario to appear in the same game really shows the strength of alliance between Nintendo and SEGA that has developed.
"The Olympic Games represent the true spirit of competition and passion," said Raymond Goldsmith, CEO of ISM.
"Bringing together intensely competitive and fun characters like Mario and Sonic in an Olympic setting helps showcase the sports of the Olympic Games in a new and compelling way for all generations," he added.

I am not too eager about this game, true.
But to me it means that the chances of Sonic being in SSBM are a lot higher!

I'm not too interested in the game but still - this is pretty awesome news.
I guess they finaly got over the console war 16 years ago.
This may be the beginning of more to come, im sure sega wont work with nintendo on just this one project. however i dont want sega to influence nintendo too much.
Maybe Nintendo will influence SEGA and get them back to the glory days.
