Summer's almost over, but Switch's sizzling roster of exciting upcoming games is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, September and October have plenty of great titles in store for us as you're about to see.
Below, you'll find a selection of featured titles hand-picked by us, as well as lots of other games and accessories that are launching over the next couple of months. Have a browse and see if anything takes your fancy!

Temtem - 6th September
There have been plenty of Pokémon-alikes appearing on Switch just lately, and Temtem is the latest to try to tap into your monster-taming nostalgia. The game is a massively multiplayer take on the tried and trusted formula and has you travelling across six islands while becoming a Temtem tamer; you'll be able to join friends to explore the game in co-op mode at any time, engaging in battles and customing your character to your heart's content.
Splatoon 3 - 9th September
September's biggest release for Nintendo fans, without question, is Splatoon 3.
The latest entry in everyone's favourite squid shooter series, Splatoon 3 will give squids and kids alike a fresh chance to take to the splattlefield and claim as much turf as possible. The series has never let us down before, so we have high hopes for this upcoming title. You can grab a pre-order below, although more pre-order options can also be found here.
FIFA 23 - 30th September
Rounding out September is FIFA 23, the final EA football game under the FIFA branding.
As we've come to expect, this year's Switch release is once again a Legacy Edition, meaning it features all the updated teams, kits and squads, but doesn't feature any of the gameplay improvements seen on other consoles. It's a shame, but if you just want the latest title available to play on the go, pre-orders are now available.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope - 20th October
The second entry in Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids series arrives on Switch on 20th October, as Mario and friends head out on a brand new galactic journey to explore planets and save their Spark companions.
There are plenty of familiar faces in the game's eclectic roster, but new combat tactics and bosses will force you to work out brand new ways to get the upper hand. We can't wait to get our hands on this one, and there isn't long to wait! More pre-order options can also be found here, including the special Gold and Cosmic edition releases.
Bayonetta 3 - 28th October
Finally, finally launching on 28th October is Bayonetta 3. Here's hoping years of waiting will pay off!
The game's getting both a standard and special physical edition, with the latter already proving extremely hard to come by. We're keeping track of all the links you need in our dedicated pre-order guide, but you'll want to jump on any stock of the Trinity Masquerade Edition whenever you see it.
Bayonetta struts through multiple locations in an all-new, over-the-top climax action game. Sporting a wicked new ensemble and somehow familiar pigtails, the titular Umbra Witch must face a mysterious evil using her signature guns and time-slowing Witch Time ability. This time, invading manmade bioweapons called Homunculi find themselves in Bayonetta’s crosshairs.

No Persona 5 Royal? Thought that was coming in October.
Probably splatoon and XIII if it’s a major improvement over its initial release. If persona 5 makes it out then that for sure.
Am I crazy or is LOH:Trails from zero not here?
Sparks of Hope is the only thing on here for me.
This month I´ll buy:
Wow another couple of months of safe wallet. It no wonder I don't have a back log at the moment.
So excited for no man’s sky. I enjoy it on PlayStation on and off from time to time but now in handheld imma get some quality time in on switch for sure.
I still need to complete the Rhythmic Adventure Pack though, but considering that Bandai are absolute rubbish when it comes to restocking their games, I'll probably grab this at launch out of fear of missing out.
I'm so torn. It's derivative of WarioWare: Smooth Moves (which is essentially what I wanted out of the new WarioWare), but this lacks personality and polish. I enjoyed the demo enough to consider a purchase though.
I'll grab this when it inevitably plummets to around AU$20, which is a fairer asking price for the updated content.
This is really tempting, but it looks quite rough.
I haven't even completed the first game yet, and I have an unfortunate feeling that this will have paid DLC and/or patches galore (the first two games have been Version 1.0 since launch), so I'm tempted to sit this one out at launch.
I'll consider this in a couple of years if they ever release a complete edition with the inevitable DLC expansion on the cart.
Splatoon 3 and Bayonetta 3 for me these two months.
Bear & Breakfast! Potion Permit! Beacon Pines! Lemon Cake! NAIAD! A Winding Path! 🍁
For me:
Splatoon 3
Bayonetta 3
NiEr Automata
DioField Chronicle
Trails From Zero
@sonicmeerkat It is there.
I wonder if DQ X has English language support
There are some 3rd party games I could consider but on PS4 / PS5 version. 😅
September is a solid month, Splatoon 3 and Diofield for me.
October is insane: Nier, No Man's Sky, Sparks of Hope, Persona 5 and Bayonetta 3. Speaking of which, Atlus needs to put up Persona 5 for pre-order.
Just bought bayonetta on PS4 for £8 really enjoyed it got that fly me to the moon song stuck in my head lol shame I can't play the sequel on my playstation though
@KryptoniteKrunch Yea, October is absolutely stacked. Still can't believe we're getting Nier Automata and Persona 5 Royal mere weeks from each other!
Edit: I have a feeling ATLUS is waiting for Nintendo to showcase Persona 5 in the next Direct to announce that it's now available for preorder
These games I'll get at some point...
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
And that's about it, from what I can tell.
I sank over 2000 hours into Splatoon 2. After trying the Splatoon 3 demo I’m not at all excited about the game. I’ve been a day one customer for 1 and 2 and a HUGE fan but 3 just kinda rubs me the wrong way. It’s very hard to get hyped for it. I may not end up getting this one.
Honestly for me, only interested in the Amnesia games and the DioField Chronicles.
But this month might be tight since I have friends coming to visit and we're going to spend a day at the fair, literally just days before those games come out, so guess they'll have to wait.
