Snifit

These can spit powerful projectiles at you. Be careful if it attacks Mallow or Geno, who generally have lower defense than Mario because they'll take a lot of damage. They can also cast Static E! and Blizzard spells.

Snifster / Spookum

Upgraded versions of Snifits that shoot Bullet Bills. They’re pretty easy to defeat otherwise!

Dollox / Remo Con

These usually appear alongside a few Spookums and have powerful physical attacks, so take them out first. It’s also immune to Thunderbolt.

Rob-omb

Stronger versions of the standard Bob-omb enemies. They attack by exploding and sacrificing themselves, inflicting decent damage.

Orb User

A fire-based enemy that uses a bunch of fire-based spells like Flame and Flame Wall. Don’t attack them with fire and you should be good to go! It doesn’t take much damage, but it also doesn’t have much health.

Lava Bubble / Fireball

They have the same name as the ones from before, but these are blue fireballs that appear in the coin puzzle room. They deal minor damage and almost always go down in a single hit.

Chain Chomp

These have a high physical defense stat, but for some reason, they’re weak to Mallow’s Thunderbolt skills!

Jester

They’re weak to ice, so attack with Mallow’s Snowy spell if you happen to have it. Otherwise, they don’t have a ton of health.

Blaster

These annoyances can also fire Bullet Bills at you and do a lot of damage. Focus on them when you see them in battle.

After Bowser leaves the scene, walk towards the door. It’s actually locked, so Bowser will show up again, bust the door down, and join your party! You can switch your allies anytime from the menu.

Head into the tower and jump up the stairs to the northwest before heading through the door to the next area.

Hidden Treasure 18 - Sniftster room

Head up the stairs and you'll reach a room with Snifsters in there. Fight or avoid them. In the corner of this room is a Surprise Box containing a Frog Coin.

Keep going and you’ll find Booster on a train. After the conversation, head right to find a Flower Tab in a secret alcove. Continue to the next area and avoid the Rob-ombs.

The first exit leads to a treasure chest containing the Masher weapon for Mario. You'll need to climb all the way back up if you grab it, though.

Once you're back at the top, chase Booster through the second exit. Press a switch to open up a new location in Booster Pass and continue onwards. There’s a neat curtain in this area that changes Mario’s appearance, so feel free to play around with it for a moment if you like! When you’re ready to keep going, continue chasing Booster.

Climb up the stairs, battling or avoiding the Snifsters and Bullet Bills along the way. There are more Rob-ombs in this next room and a save block in the next one.

Booster Tower Paintings - Correct order

In this area is a puzzle that unlocks a weapon for Bowser. The answer is in the lobby of the tower, but we’ve got it right here for you!

Take a look at the left image below and imagine that the leftmost portrait is 1 and the rightmost portrait is 6. You’ll want to inspect them in this order: 6, 5, 3, 1, 2, 4. You’ll receive an Elder Key that unlocks the nearby door – enter it to find a new weapon for Bowser.

Continue to the next room and climb up the stairs. There’s a full heal in a treasure box to the right.

Surprise Box 19 - Seesaw

Hop on the seesaw to launch into the room above! In the northwest corner of the room at ground level is a Surprise Box with a Frog Coin inside. Take it and then climb the stairs.

In this room, there's a small alcove near a big set of stairs – walk inside and jump for another Frog Coin and then continue to the next room.

This room is one big puzzle. There are lots of coins and treasure inside, and it’s also a great chance to grind up some experience points. Generally speaking, any tile with a coin is safe. When you step on an incorrect spot, Fireballs appear – you’ll usually be able to defeat them both in one hit, and they often drop Lucky Flowers for a chance to double your experience points at the end of the battle.

Grab all four Frog Coins and the key. Unlock the nearby door to obtain the Zoom Shoes, an accessory that increases a party member’s speed.

Head out the door to the northwest to finally escape this trap. In the next room are some Chain Chomps. Sneak by them by hugging the edge of the wall opposite to their faces and continue to the next area.

Booster will appear and throw Bob-ombs at you, but you can simply leave the room. In the next area, there’s a Chain Chomp right in front of you, but you can avoid engaging in battle by jumping to the left right away. Climb up the steps and you’ll find a save block in the next room. Use it if you like and then jump across the platforms to open a treasure box with a Frog Coin inside.

Surprise Box 20 - Orange platforms

There’s actually a Surprise Box above the one you just opened, so use the platforms to give yourself a boost and uncover it to find a Goodie Bag.

Surprise Box 21 - Southeast corner

There’s another Surprise Box with a Mushroom in the southeast corner of this room, just below the bottom orange platform. This will give you a Mushroom.

In the next area, you’ll find Peach! Unfortunately, the door is locked and Mario is forced to hide from Booster in the curtains. This begins a minigame where Booster’s minions check behind each curtain.

Booster Tower Minigame - How to win

You’ll need to run from curtain to curtain, making sure you aren’t spotted along the way. Eventually, another Snifit will come into the mix and open a second curtain each time. All three Snifits will eventually join in, and Booster will then come in and open the curtain you’re behind… and appear not to notice at first.

Press the jump button to knock down Booster’s Mario Doll. If you manage to go through the curtain mini-game without getting caught by a minion, you’ll receive Booster's Charm / an Amulet from Booster. If you fail, however, you'll need to fight Booster and his minions...

The fight isn't very hard — simply take out the three Snifits, and then Booster will attack. Just throw everything you have at Booster and this fight will be over very quickly.

When you regain control, you might want to take a moment to heal up and save your progress again. There's a boss fight coming up and it's a tough one.

Boss - Knife Guy & Grate Guy

This is easily the hardest boss you've encountered so far. If you got Booster's Charm, you'll want to equip it on Mario right away, as it halves the damage he takes from elemental attacks and increases some of his stats. You’ll need all the help you can get.

For tips on how to beat this duo, check out our How To Defeat Knife Guy & Grate Guy guide. When the battle ends, you’ll immediately be thrown into a minigame.

Booster Hill Walkthrough

It’s minigame time! You’ll need to move left and right and jump over incoming barrels. You also can’t lag behind and get caught by a Snifit or else you’ll fall back.

The goal here is to get as close to Peach as possible because when you do, she’ll give you a Flower. Dodge as many obstacles as possible and collect as many Flowers as you can. You can also jump on a barrel or Snifit to gain a small speed boost.

After the minigame, you’ll appear in Marrymore, the next town. Before you do anything else, remember when you pressed a switch in Booster Tower? You opened a secret area in Booster Pass. Head back there and enter the mine. Jump across the Spikeys to find three treasure chests with healing items, a Flower, and a Frog Coin.

With this out of the way, you’re welcome to head to Marrymore to continue your quest.
