Searching Hungry Gnomes is one of the weekly challenges in Fortnite. Complete it and you'll earn XP and Battle Stars that will help boost you up the Battle Pass tiers for those sweet exclusive rewards.
In this guide, we're going to help you find the location of every single Hungry Gnome and complete this challenge with relative ease. That way you can move onto completing the other difficult challenge for this week – searching between a bear, crater, and refrigerator shipment.
Fortnite - Search Hungry Gnomes
To complete this challenge in Fortnite you have to locate and search seven of a possible 14 different Hungry Gnomes scattered across the Fortnite map. Once you've found one, simply hold 'Y' in front of it to search it, adding that gnome to your tally.
You'll know you're near a gnome because they speak in an incredibly high-pitched voice. Follow it and you'll find a gnome easily enough.
You don't have to complete this challenge in a single match, but you do have to find seven different gnomes. With that in mind, it might be worth keeping a mental note of the gnomes you've already searched so you can head towards another one when you next play.
Once you've searched a gnome or two, you will have to complete the particular match of Fortnite you're playing at that point to register them as searched gnomes. Quit out, and you'll get nothing.
Fortnite - Hungry Gnomes locations
There are 14 Hungry Gnomes in total in Fortnite, and you can refer to our handy map above for a rough outline of each of their locations.
Below, we'll narrow down their exact locations so use them both to help you collect them faster.
Hungry Gnome - Southeast Junk Junction
There's a gnome by the vending machines just above and to the right of the football field, in the stands.
Hungry Gnome - Pleasant Park
Head inside the gas station on the eastern side of Pleasant Park and you'll find the gnome next to an aisle.
Hungry Gnome - East Snobby Shores
This gnome is just to the left of the door as you enter the Taco shop in this unnamed area.
Hungry Gnome - Tilted Towers
Inside the Noms Cafe in the centre of Tilted Towers you'll find a gnome in the corner. Sadly, the gnome doesn't appear in the screen as we'd already collected them all.
Hungry Gnome - Greasy Grove
This gnome is at the bottom of the stairs in the basement of the huge restaurant in Greasy Grove.
Hungry Gnome - South Shifty Shafts
There's a small diner in the north of this unnamed area, and you'll find the gnome hiding behind a chair inside.
Hungry Gnome - Northeast Flush Factory
Head inside the biggest factory in the northwest of this unnamed area and look for two vending machines by the south wall. The gnome is hiding just to the right of them – you might need to break them to reach it.
Hungry Gnome - Risky Reels
There's a small warehouse in the southwest corner of Risky Reels. Inside, you'll find a bar – the gnome is hiding behind it. (No gnome appears in this image.)
Hungry Gnome - Tomato Town
Head inside Tomato Town and into the big restaurant with the tomato on top. The gnome is by the bar near the rear entrance.
Hungry Gnome - Retail Row

Hungry Gnome - Salty Springs
Head inside the gas station in the northeast of Salty Springs and look left. The gnome is just next to the vending machine. (The gnome doesn't appear in this screenshot).
Hungry Gnome - Southeast Retail Row
There's a gas station at this unnamed location, and you'll find the gnome behind the cash register. (We'd already collected the gnomes at this point, so there's no gnome in this screen).
Hungry Gnome - Lucky Landing
In the southernmost building of Lucky Landing, you'll find a gnome hiding by a fridge.
Hungry Gnome - Moisty Mire
Head to the southwestern-most section of the film site and find a makeshift cafe. The gnome is by the drinks machines. (No gnome in the screen but this is the location).

I've been frequenting your site for almost a year now, and I had to make an account today just so I can tell you this: I come here for Nintendo news. When it stops being about Nintendo and starts becoming a Fortnite news site, I'm gone. Forever.
@azlum this is news that applies to a game that is on a Nintendo console that Nintendo players play. It IS Nintendo news...
Sounded to me like they were saying "yanny yanny" like the meme!
@azlum Fortnite is huge and it's on a Nintendo console. It's very central to Nintendo happenings this month and beyond so of course it will be featured. Not to mention it's one of the few games on Switch that has frequent updates, so it's not really special treatment. ARMS gets the same treatment and I ignore those articles.
@azlum Blame Nintendo for not giving us anything more interesting to talk about. NL is going overboard on the Fortnite coverage, but considering it's one of the top most played games in the West (across all platforms) and just arrived on Switch this month, it's as big a deal release as a new Zelda (unfortunately.) At least they're writing about games that actually are on Nintendo consoles rather than the awkward period where we were getting stories about Fallout76 and random other Sony/PC/XBox games.
OTOH: Wolfenstein and Ys are out. Shining Resonance and Octopath are coming out in the next 7-14 days. A little more of that, a little less of Fortnite would do well.
