Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX (Switch eShop)

An enhanced version of Shovel Knight may not be the 3D game or new entry fans are looking for, but Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX still sounds fantastic.

Originally due in 2025 (though Mina the Hollower's delay has likely affected this), this version adds multiplayer, 20 new player characters, rewinds, save states, and more. We've known about this for a while, but with a release date up in the air still, we hope this is coming sooner rather than later.

The Eternal Life of Goldman (Switch)

A "vibrant yet dark" indie platformer from Weappy Studio, we just adore the look and animation of The Eternal Life of Goldman. Seriously, check out the Direct trailer and tell us it's not one of the best-looking games on this list.

We'll find out if playing it is as sublime as watching it (hopefully) in Winter 2025. But early 2026 seems likely.

Caves of Qud (Switch eShop)

Caves of Qud is an incredible feat. 15 years in the making, with 7 years in early access, it finally launched on PC late last year and is now coming to Switch January 2026.

Now, this game is absolutely massive and a little bit overwhelming; it's not quite like any other roguelike out there, guiding you along with a quest system that will help you progress. Some of these are random, others are scripted. Every session is completely different, with events, "political systems" and more procedurally generated.

There's so much to talk about for this hugely ambitious game, and we can't wait to dig deeper.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (Switch)

Hit 3DS game Tomodachi Life is getting a sequel in Spring 2026! And we're moving on to island life thanks to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.

Expect some weird wonderfulness when this lands on the Switch, where you'll spend your days helping others as your own Mii. The island is your oyster, and we're sure friends and family will be sucked into it just like millions were with the first game.

Danganronpa 2x2 (Switch)

We have our suspicions about Danganronpa 2x2, a remake of the excellent Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair.. Why? Well... why not remake the first? Or make a new one?

To be fair, this one does promise a new scenario on top of all the QoL changes you'd expect from a remake. Will this new story take us elsewhere in the Danganronpa world? We'll have to wait until 2026 on Switch (and Switch 2) to find out)

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction (Switch eShop)

Bitmap working on a He-Man side-scroller? We have the power! Or we will, on Switch, in 2026 at least. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction looks like a long-lost arcade game, with lovely pixel art and crunchy music to go with.

It's a side-scrolling beat 'em up, as you'd expect, and you'll be able to play as He-Man, Teela, and Man-At-Arms (and maybe more?) as you battle through 12 stages. We won't be seeing this until 2026, but that doesn't mean we're not getting our old He-Man toys out of the attic right now...

Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection (Switch)

We should've expected to see the return of Mega Man Star Force after the excellent Battle Network Legacy Collection, but this announcement still caught us by surprise.

Mega Man Star Force: Legacy Collection bundles the DS RPGs from the blue bomber into one complete, comprehensive package. Taking the mantle from the GBA titles, these games evolve the grid-based combat and story, and are considered cult classics among the fans. This bundle lands on Switch in early 2026.

So, Capcom, where's our Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection then?

inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories (Switch eShop)

Have you ever dreamt of running a Japanese convenience store? Well inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories will let you live out your loveliest fantasies.

Taking place in a small Japanese town with a '90s feel, you'll get to form relationships with the customers while stocking up your little store. The game is based around the concept of ichi-go, ichi-e (one time, one meeting), meaning conversation and moments are key. The game is coming to Switch in April 2026.
