Review Big Kahuna Party (WiiWare)
Is WiiWare puzzler Big Kahuna Party a beach party or a shipwreck?
Big Kahuna Party is a "match-three" game in the style of Bejeweled. This style of play has been around for a while now and there is not much left to add to the genre, though this doesn’t mean there isn’t room in your collection for a fun variation on the theme. So is...

News USA WiiWare Update: Strong Bad Episode 5 & Big Kahuna Party
There are no prizes for guessing that Strong Bad Episode 5: 8-Bit Is Enough is out this week. This is the final game in the five part Strong Bad series, in which fans will finally be able to witness Trogdor in all three of the glorious Ds! Other popular Homestar Runner games such as Stinkoman 20X6 and Thy Dungeonman also make appearances. Watch out for our review which will be up later today.
Big Kahuna Party is the other game up for grabs this week. It looks suspiciously like Bejeweled and seems to be based on a Flash game. We don’t know much about...
News Big Kahuna Party to Bring Multiplayer Fun to WiiWare
We got a press release about a new game for WiiWare today by the name of Big Kahuna Party. It’s the first we have heard of this game, or indeed the developers Reflexive Entertainment so we really don’t know what to expect from this one yet. It appears to be a multiplayer underwater puzzle game.
See below the fold for the screenshots we currently...
About The Game
Embark on a tropical adventure with the explosively charged Big Kahuna Party. Looking to make the ultimate party game, we started with a concept that’s accessible to the whole family - the popular match-three game.
On top of that, we crafted a unique multiplayer experience in which you can choose to work together to complete the challenging levels before the timer runs out, or go head-to-head and compete in a frenzy of fun. To top it off, we added 99 uniquely free-flowing levels, the challenging Tiki Pole, 20 hidden tropical sea creatures to unlock, the strategic Fish Net and more. The result is a family party game like no other, easy to pick up but impossible to put down. Play alone or with friends, and unleash the Tiki spirit within.

It seems like it may have some potential, but probably a miss for me. I haven't heard of Reflexive Entertainment, so I don't have the slightest idea how great their games are.
sort of looks like plattchen
Looks like a combo of PLATTCHEN and BoomBLox. But I'm more likely to get both of those first if any at all.
Boom Blox came to mind for me too. Good game, especially if you like creating stages yourself. I wouldn't say this Kahuna game will have any of Blox's greatness though, at least not yet.
Look familiar anybody? It's Bang!, only with maritime theme! Come on, Wiiware hasn't been around for a year yet, and people are already making clones! And Bang! isn't even out yet!
Plattchen? Boom Blox?! I'm sold! lol.
I'm a big fan of Boom Blox and you guys know how much I enjoy Plattchen.
It is actually like bejeweled. It is based on a flash game. http://zone.msn.com/en/bigkahuna/default.htm?intgid=gb_FreeOnlineAll+List_17_bkrf It is really slow and laggy (to me) but there is also a deluxe trial. Havent tried. hope this gives ya an idea of the game.
I hope this one's a bit easier to understand than Plaatchen.
Here we go again...
Bejeweled clone? FINALLY! But honestly, I'm still waiting for Bejeweled to come on the WiiWare service officially. That doesn't mean I won't give this a try though!
Bejeweled?! No thanks, I hated that game. Definitely passin' on this one.
Hey, they're rockin' one of my fonts in the game They're using my Backlash font.
they are letting too many puzzle games onto wiiware, nintendo needs to allow alot more games in

There's a free demo of the game here, if you'd like to try it out.
It may not be the most original concept in the world, but it's certainly not shovelware. A cash-in, maybe, but it plays quite well.
i actually REALLY like this game...my girlfriend and I played this together all weekend, and never got tired of it.
