Review Ghosts 'n Goblins (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
The original quarter-eating monster returns
Over two years ago, before Nintendo introduced the Virtual Console Arcade, Capcom released the NES port of Ghosts 'n Goblins on Virtual Console. Arguably the most well-known version of the game out there, it's infamous for being an incredibly challenging and, frequently, totally unfair game. While it would...

Ghosts 'n Goblins News
News Proposed Ghosts 'N Goblins Reboot Is Cancelled Following An Intellectual Property Dispute
Not all that shocking, really
Remember the Kickstarter campaign we reported on a while back about a possible reboot of Capcom's Ghosts 'n Goblins? The team behind the project stated that they would try and produce the game with or without Capcom's blessing, but did say that even if the Japanese giant refused to become involved, the name of the title...

News Six Capcom Arcade Classics Launching on VC this Winter
Keeping the download service strong
As revealed at Comic-Con, New York this year, Capcom is planning on bringing some previously Japan-only Virtual Console titles to the West and, if all goes well, we will be tucking into some retro classics this Winter. Currently, there are six titles scheduled for release in North America and Europe, and from the...
News Japanese Virtual Console List - November 2010
Three more classics, and one not-so classic
Japan's doing its usual job of getting games just before everybody does: three of the games they're getting this month have already been officially announced for release elsewhere and will be coming in the next few months. The fourth game they're getting is more of a Japanese thing, and won't be too sorely...
News Capcom Reveals Virtual Console Arcade Support in the West
Finally some more arcade classics
It took a while, but Capcom has finally revealed that, yes, it is also planning to release a bunch of its arcade titles on the Virtual Console outside Japan. We already discovered some of the titles a while ago, but it's now added one more game to the list. Listed on a small poster in Capcom's booth at the Comic-Con...
News Even More Virtual Console Titles on the Way
Four more possible future retro releases
We only reported on a few potential Virtual Console games getting rated less than a week ago, but it's already time to report on even more of them. Since the last news post, the OFLC has rated two more classic titles which are very likely for Nintendo's beloved retro service, and in addition to that, we've...
About The Game
Ghosts ‘n Goblins is a classic game that packs a heavy punch (and lance).
Experience the smash arcade hit from 1985 as you help Arthur defeat hordes of monsters in his attempt to rescue the princess. The first (and possibly only) game in which taking a hit reduces you to your underwear.

It's great to finally see Capcom support for VCA (and even quite dedicated support) but do we really need another version of the original Makaimura?
Superb music for a great game.
"do we really need another version of the original Makaimura?"
I'd say yes. Who want's to play the 50hz glitchy NES version?
Is this the guy that's in Marvel vs. Capcom 3?
Awesome. Never played this at the arcade, but this will be an insta-buy for me. Lets encourage more virtual arcade titles from capcom
Strider; Street Fighter 2's; Final Fight; Ghouls n Ghosts
Yes! Maybe... Demon's Crest? (please please)
We already got the NES version on the VC.
I second the motion for Demons Crest. That game was awesome!
So people... should I buy the NES or the VC Arcade version?!
^ Get the arcade version
i am a little confused. We are talking about ghost n ghoblins for arcade but on the video its the nes version.
@cowboy: I think you're misremembering how NES games look
don't forget the INSERT COIN on the title screen.....
This is the only version of GnG's available now on VC. They took off the NES one a week or so ago.
Check that, Ninty put GnG (NES ver) back up tonight.
Infuriatingly difficult and addictive.
Yes, GnG is hard as nails, but it gives you that feeling of "maybe if I try one more time I can do it!", which is essential for a tough platformer. Of course, finally beating the game is an immensely rewarding experience, and makes all the trouble seem worth it.
does it have black bars down the sides..?
