Twenty-five years ago, a bright-eyed elementary school student whiled away time in class doodling crude pictures of ninjas in his notebook, completely unaware that such pictures would grow into a lifelong passion project. Indeed, The Messenger is the culmination of decades of daydreaming and prototyping, slowly being refined down into...

From the makers of The Messenger
It's been a while since we've heard from Sabotage Studio about its upcoming retro-flavoured turn-based RPG Sea of Stars — in fact, we spoke to the developers and saw a remote demo of the game way back in March 2020. This game looks mint
20usd for 8bit game? Please. 10$ is considered overpriced already
Just completed it 100%.Imo it's Goty material!
@Nudawa I have to say that this game is so big, that even 40$ would be OK. It's a masterpiece and beats every other Retrostyle game on the market. Trust me, buy and play it.
... and it's 16Bit too.
@LordVal i got The Witcher 3 for 40$ at launch, so you're telling me this game worths equal to TW3? Or even half as worth? I dont think so.
@Nudawa you are trying to compare apples and pears. Maybe it depends on the viewpoint: I, personally, would never spend a Cent on a Witcher 3 Game - just not my genre. But The Messenger brought me more than ten Hours of fun gameplay, graphics, style and music. It throws me back to my childhood and that's, for me, much more worth than 40 bucks.
@LordVal it's not apple and pear, it's real value and price. A donut, for example, no matter how good it is, pricing it 1/3 of a pizza is ridiculous.
@Nudawa but if the quality is right I would pay the price for the delicious donut over a lame, boring pizza. Even if I'm more the salt and not the sugar type. Totally different genres...
Awesome game. Lots of fin, excellent writing, solid stuff!
I haven't beaten this game yet, but bought it while it was on sale on the e-shop. It's really, really good. I read all the hype about it, but was kind of like @Nudawa in that I didn't want to pay $20 for retro, but even if I had, I think it would have been worth it. And I believe the game is still supposed to get free dlc coming up soon, Picnic Panic. The sense of humor is spot on, and actually funny instead of womp womp. The controls are great, and I really see this as a great successor to the Ninja Gaiden on the NES. I used to love that game as a kid, even though it was so hard. As an adult, I like this way more.
@LordVal is it really that good.I loved ninja garden on new online!not as tough as people say minus the bosses at the end of game😈😈😈😈
@ryobi85 it is. Much easier than Ninja Gaiden, but much deeper and longer too. And it has a good sense of humor and the tunes are so catchy. For me it's one of the Top Ten Games of all time!
joys
cons
10/10 it's not like games this good come around in this genre everyday.
I am looking into this game for sure! Will let you guys know what I think if I get around to it!
