Take the role of Sir David in this action-RPG and get to the bottom of the mysteries of Green Row.
After dazzling Megadrive/Genesis owners with the likes of Gunstar Heroes and Dynamite Headdy (let’s forget Ronald’s McDonaldland Adventure for now), Treasure turned its talents to the Action RPG genre with this 1995 release. Published in the...

News US VC Releases - 31st December - Light Crusader
The US plays catchup today, as they get three games Europe's already had a while. All of them are good, though, so hopefully no complaining this time!
Leading the pack is Treasure's Genesis RPG, Light Crusader. This is to this day probably Treasure's only Western game, featuring almost no obvious Japanese influence. It's also usually named as one of...
News EU VC Releases - 7th December - Sega Week
Breaking the norm again this month, Sega only releases two games instead of the usual three. No matter though when both of them are great! Rolling Thunder 2 is one of Dazza's favourites. It borrows some elements from Shinobi and combined it with arcade action, as there's enemies coming at you from all sides. While somewhat short, the game just oozes quality every step you take, with great music, graphics and gameplay.
The other Mega Drive offering is Light Crusader, an isometric Action RPG which is somewhat similar to Landsta...

Good news. Not exactly the best Treasure game but you can never have enough of these kinds of games.
Hmm, not sure about this. On the one hand, I love Treasure, and seem to love these MD adventures (Story of Thor, LandStalker, Wonderboy, Shining Force to name a few!). But on the other hand, the fans don't exactly speak highly of it =/
I grew up playing this game and a few others this is one of those games where you get used to the gameplay and it becomes an awesome game, the music brings me to tears. The music encourages exploration for hidden collectibles and it is a fair rpg.
Audio-7.5/10
Gameplay- 10/10
Innovation- 9.5/10
*Lots of collectables and better equiptment to get, there are many items in this game that are dropped by enemies but are very rare like the Gold Armour, Geddon Armour, Scratcher etc.
Original PAL version was in multilanguage: English Deustch Francais Español
Is this version multilanguage too?
Thanks.
Awesome, I'm glad you Europeans got this. I have never played it, but it's a Treasure game, so I'd love to experience it in any case. My fingers are crossed for a US release on Monday.
"Give me the Mighty Power!"
There's only ONE reason I'm not buying this VC title; I still have the original cartridge.
I freaking love this game, despite the somewhat drab-looking dungeons. But once you get your mind cracking to those fiendish puzzles, you'll be grateful that the background has been kept fairly modest and undistracting.
The music is great, too.
Something I always found hilarious in this game is that you can push practically anything.
Seriously, play around with that. Easily amused as I was back then, pushing people around in the King's castle had me busy for ages. XD
The spell system's pretty neat, too. But hey, try it out. =D
It's multilanguage.
But ther is a annoying issue, if you walk left, right or up down, (instead of diagonally) you get the screen shaking... makes me sick
I hope it'll be fixed
a very enjoyable game abiet a bit short. I will d/l this one as i played the original on the megadrive and its true what they say short and sweet
How come he looks like he has to pee really bad when he's standing still?
Wow! that looks like a lot of fun but whenever I see platforms with no shadows... I gotta smack my forehead... What were they thinking? "Please navigate this MC Escher painting with spikes"
this game looks sweet
I got bored pretty quickly with this game. The music is great, but graphics are a bit hit and miss, characters and their dialogues are bland.. and there's too much dungeon crawling instead of adventuring. Also the bosses are way too easy.
A great game with good music, I truly recommend it to everyone who loves a great hack n' slash RPG adventure.
OMG a treasure RPG!!!!!
Haha, I bought this game thinking it would be ho-hum. Guess what? I was wrong by a long shot.
This game is really good and very challenging. It is quite funny how you can push almost everything. And the puzzles are mind boggling, I don't think I'll ever beat it. And the music is top notch
Dang. I got really far in the game, figured out all of these puzzles a nd bet a few bosses. Until this one boss came along and completly killed me, and I forgot to save before I did any of that. So about an hour and a half of gameplay is gone.
This is one of those games that kind of came out of nowhere for me. I bought it when I read that it was from the guys at Treasure and it turned out to be quite a nice surprise. It's not perfect, but it's a nice take on an RPG from a company better known for their shooters.
Bought this a week ago and today I finished it. Was a pretty good game, had some nice music and gameplays ratio for puzzles and fighting was well balanced. Puzzles difficulties varies, most are relativly easy and straight forward, some take you while to look at the room layout before you figure them out and there is a couple of real tough ones thar require couple of minutes to figure out. Usually the harder puzzles lead to some bonus stuff like a better sword or armor. Only downside that the fighting is too simple IMO, you only have a couple a different attack moves and magic. I would give this one 7.5/10 well worth the 800 points if you like what you see in the gameplay video...
Edit: My last save just before the last boss said I had played for 5-6 hours. IMO was a decent length game for it's time
