Review Alex Kidd in Shinobi World (Virtual Console / Master System)
Does Sega's original mascot go out with a bang or a whimper?
Poor Alex Kidd. The pint-sized, big-eared wonder never really caught on as a mascot, although it was not through lack of trying on Sega's part. Alex appeared in a number of games featuring vastly different forms of gameplay and, with this last throw of the dice, Sega tried to pair the...
About The Game
The Dark Ninja, who was banished 10,000 years ago, has returned to rule Miracle World. He also takes young Alex's girlfriend and use her as a sacrifice. To help Alex defeat the Dark Ninja and rescue his girlfriend, a god enters Alex's body, causing Alex to become a ninja master.
There are four rounds, with three levels each. Alex travels through locations like office blocks, construction sites, shipyards, and jungles. He must go through each level defeating ninjas, wildlife and others.

YES!!!!!! Finally, I'll be able to experience another Alex Kidd game. But I wonder if this one's decent...
It was only a matter of time before this would be announced. I'll stick to regular Shinobi thank you very much.
I was pretty much let down by Miracle World, and The Enchanted Castle was quite underwhelming. I hope this is one Alex Kidd title I'll actually like.
LOL! I actually thought the game title was a joke!!!
alex kidd..shinobi world?
wow.
exactly how many AK games were released?! <_<
There are 5 Alex Kidd Releases on the Sms:
The other 2 Sms titles not released on the vc or on a coming soon list is Alex Kidd: BMX Trial (Japan Only), and Alex Kidd: High-Tech World (not released in Japan since the original version of the game is called Anmitsu Hime in Japan).
Alex Kidd in Shinobi World is better than Alex Kidd: High-Tech World. Alex Kidd: High-Tech World is one of the worst Sms games I ever played.
About time, this game I really cannot wait for. It will be very good.
It's suppose to be the best installment in the series.
glad they ditched this guy for sonic
I mean, the game looks good; but does it play good?
Because I'd really like to play one Alex Kidd game that I can go back to every now and then.
Well, Miracle World is the best in the series, and it you don't like it,then you're pretty much doomed to never like Alex Kidd (there is a very small glimmer of hope though.)
@SSBF: Best in series? That doesn't comprehend. In fact, here's how I evaluate the series.
Miracle World: Got the formula right. Paper Rock Scissors doesn't make it a bad game 'cause it requires no luck whatsoever.
Lost Stars: A very boring platformer.
Hi-Tech World: Like 7ht lutz said, one of the worst MS games.
BMX Trials: Only one I've never played.
Enchanted Castle: Went back to MW formula but was plagued with bad controls and awful collision detection.
Shinobi World: Poor man's ripoff of Shinobi.
Nah, this is a great one. This one and Miracle World are the only Alex Kidd games that are really good.
This will be our first Sega Master System title next year.
I'm not a big fan of Alex Kidd games, but if I did download one this would be it.
Looks like we know what NA's next MS game'll be.
