Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
The talk on MotionPlus being used beyond swordplay makes the archery & plane attributes of Wii Sports Resort seem likely for Zelda. We'll see how that works...
I want to know what it even looks like. We haven't seen any screenshots or anything. The fact that motionplus is needed to play the game helps a lot for building my expectations.
Best thread ever

You knwo, i hadn't thought of that before: Spirit Tracks has a train as transportation, how off the wall would this new Zelda be if it had planes?

And don't forget boats in Wind Waker
True. I was actually more surprised at the boat thing in WW than the train thing in ST. But how awesome would a plane thing be?
It could be like OoT all over again. (In an awesome way) The horse riding was so new and interesting when OoT came out that I would just ride out sometimes. And do nothing but just ride. If they were to put planes on this game and let you free-fly a-la SR throughout Hyrule.... no no no, there's just no WAY they would do something incredible like that. No way.
Forget Planes, Trains & Automobiles. All the modes of transportation added to Zelda are just gimmicks. I'd love to see a back to basics solid Zelda game. Make it fun.
Get rid of the postman, get rid of the Zora, the Gorons, the forest elves, get rid of the horse (unless it controls as well as being on foot), get rid of the ocarina, and the transformation into animals, get rid of the a lot of the redundant items or at least make them more useful.
Expand on the stores. The games have been too easy for potions to be useful and you can't really buy much of anything else. In Twilight Princess you have to collect a bunch of bugs to get the biggest wallet and then there's really nothing to do with it.
It like to see the focus be more on exploration and adventure (in some ways like Metroid) with exciting battles and new fight controls.
A flying machine (or animal) could actually be cool the more I think about it but it would be a big step. Traveling across the land is one thing but flying over would require some vastly different over-world design (though wind waker could have pulled it off) Also it seems really silly to base the game around the transportation. Spirit Tracks might be a great game but it's a real turn off having to ride trains around. Wind Waker is a good game but the sailing becomes quite boring after a while. The game would have been much better if everything wasn't on a separate island and it combined some of them.
"Asked if there will be gameplay that emphasizes the ability to freely swing your sword, Aonuma responded with an "Of course." He also hinted that the way you fight enemies could be the key to solving some puzzles."
can you imagine having to slash enemies in certain directions at the right time kill them? that would be awesome, almost like working the speed slice from wsr into the combat
"Don't make enemies, they'll stab your heart; don't make friends, they'll stab your back. Including me, including you, all men are trash. Don't love; don't be loved. Have nothing to do with other; live in isolation."
I would rather wait until early 2011 than get zelda this year if they perfect the controls, gameplay, graphics, and add some cool features. If they do all that and we still get in 2010 than that's a BIG plus. I would also like if the game was a bit harder than all the previous games. I'm pretty sure Nintendo is doing their best but I just can't wait for this game.
Nintendo will never release 2 major titles on one console at the same time over the holiday period. They never have and never will. they dont want them to compete for sales. So either zelda or mario aint coming this year. which one?
