@MrMicawber-I'm glad to hear that you do not like this game as much as I thought. The reason I hate this game is simple. It is the concept of this game. Tell me, how can you simulate a birthday party? Also, how many kids would be intrested in it? Would you be intrested in this game if it came out when you were a kid? I think only 5-7 year old kids who have a Wii would be remotely intrested in this game. Also, parents might rent the game rather then buy it, because a kid's birthday only comes around once a year. But hey, there are some people on Nintendo Life who like Pong Toss. So, maybe some people would actually like this game.
I merely said it was unprofessional for this site to bash it the way they did in their preview, like it was some great sin and a slap in the face to wii owners everywhere, and then the forums to pick up on it and hang it, and burn it, and beat the corpse in the street, unreleased.
The kid could play the game if it wasn't his/her birthday as well. Kids talk about birthdays all the time, and have them for Mr. Bear. So that makes zero sense to me as well. If they liked the game they could play it all day, every day.
IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?
Oh good, I am neither a gamer or hardcore. Saves me from having to be IGNorant. Right, Down, A, Down, Right, Up

Exactly. What, people shouldn't make games 5-7 year old kids will like because you wouldn't like them? In that case, why should they make games you'd like unless 5-7 year old kids would like them too? News flash: 5-7 year old kids ARE the intended audience for the game.
As for whether I'd personally be interested if I was a kid, maybe? I don't know, I'm not a kid anymore. I can't walk into the baby toy department of a toy store and point out which toys I'd have been interested in when I was a baby either. But these companies have people employed who DO know what kids and babies should show interest in. If this game wasn't percieved to be of interest to anyone, it wouldn't have been made.
And the concept? It's a game themed around birthday games and activities, just like Carnival Games was a game themed around... well, carnival games. It involves a series of minigames based around things kids do at birthday parties. A Tail-on-the-donkey game. A Blow-out-candles-on-a-cake race. An unwrap-presents game. That sort of things. It's a cute idea, and I'm sure a lot parents are going to think the same, and get it for their kid's upcoming birthday party.
You are kidding right? This game is only intended for birthdays. If 2K Games wanted the game to be used beyond birthdays, they should have developed a regular casual game instead. You also ignored some of my questions.
I find it to be an absolutley pointless game. When would you play this other than at a Birthday? Thats right nowhere. And to be honest most birthday parties have all of these events taken place just in reality not a simulation. 2K Play could`ve made something a little better for Wii instead of a rundowned, dull simulation of something remotley interesting that even kids 10 years of age or younger wouldn`t find enjoyable.

This game doesn't appeal to me but I'm in my mid-twenties so I'm not the target audience. While this game to me looks poor I don't let it wind me up or feel an uncontrollable urge to moan about it or say it shouldn't exist. Taste in games is subjective so what to me is a good game might not be to someone else.
