iit will only work if square inx does it and nintendo works on graphics and gamplay and story
Right, because Nintendo is a giant corporation who can't afford voice actors and a good voice director. And like they haven't done it before.
[youtube:8isJgYkSIHQ] The first scene in the first video may not be that convincing because it's mostly common characters talking, but skip ahead to 2:35 in the first video to see the Greil Mercenaries at the execution scene and then tell me Nintendo can't do voice acting.
I can't understand how people can still blindly insist on Nintendo being incapable of voice acting when this game exists. Not to mention Star Fox 64, which though intentionally over the top, suits its intended purpose well.

I love the Execution scene, the voice acting would be pretty good overall in the scene is Rolf and Mist didn't have terrible voices, but its fine aside from that.
Star Fox 64s voice acting fit the experience perfectly, and greatly added to the experience.
I definitely think that a new Zelda game would be highly benefitted by some good voice acting. Although Link being silent is how it should stay.

So glad somebody agrees with me! And lets not forget the voice-acting in Metroid Prime 3. I thought that was pretty solid.

Ah, thanks for reminding me. I barely played MP3, but from what I could tell the voice acting was fine, if not amazing. And Other M may well have even better voice acting given how cinematic the game looks in the trailer... despite the oddly goofy "Remember me?" line from the guy that no one remembers.
Metroid Prime series had awesome voice acting. Considering the amount needed for zelda, no, it should not have voice acting. It would break up the cinematic feel of the game to have only some characters voice act, which would end up being the case. Not all voices would be good, and minor characters would speak with only text.
Best thread ever

You assume that Zelda needs many characters. It wasn't always the case. In fact, I'm sure if I counted, there'd probably be an inverse relationship between the amount of dialog in each Zelda and the amount of time I actually enjoyed playing it. The dialog is so awful and unnecessary. A smaller cast with less dialog would certainly be ideal if they were to incorporate voice acting, and yea, Link definitely should not talk. He'd need a personality first, and it's really much too late to give him one now.

The only Zelda game that I feel had far too much dialogue was Phantom Hourglass. That fairy was just so redundant. But other than that I love huge casts of characters--so long as these characters are well developed. That's the thing that struck me about Wind Waker--just boatloads of characters, and they all had their own unique story going on. Majora's Mask was the same way.
I also feel that Hyrule Field always feels way too empty. In Twilight Princess it kind of made sense because it added to that atmosphere of lonliness, but I think it'd be good if they made it more...I don't know, inhabited. Why is Link the only one who ever travels outside his home town? How come the same people are always in the same spot in the same town every day? It's the little stuff like that I feel they could improve upon in the next game.

An option to turn on/off voice acting would be a nice addition. But if the new Zelda doesn't have VA, then I'm fine with it. I like reading anyway. And the various "grunts" and such that the characters make help me to visualize what they sound like.

Yes. All the characters have have very distinguished grunts.

I would love for Zelda to have voice acting. I have confidence Nintendo wouldn't screw it up. They wouldn't risk losing fans because of bad voice acting...which is also why it probably wont ever happen.
I'm not sure about it. I would probably enjoy it seeing as reading so much text in games such as Super Paper Mario and Okami got tiresome. But hearing Sonic's voice in the Winter Olympic Games has put me off having the main characters having proper dialogue!
Also, Mario Sunshine wasn't made by Nintendo, and Miyamoto was barley even involved in that game.
What? Who told you that?
Duh. Its common knowledge that it was made by Nontendo.

Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess it must have been that Nintendo logo that shows up as soon as the game starts that just threw me off. And then when it says "Nintendo Presents: Super Mario Sunshine"...I don't know what I was thinking there.
