For me, the best part about Zelda has always been the story. Nintendo always seems to pull out the big guns when it comes to making sure that the latest Zelda instalment has a movie-like quality to all the writing, characters, and cutscenes. Although Mr. Miyamoto said that it wouldn't be "radically different", it does seem like Zelda Wii is going to be an incredibly realistic and immersive experience (with Link sporting a more mature, Twilight Princess-ish look and WiiMotion+ giving us a more realistic take on Swordplay). I feel like the Motion+ is really going to put you into the game: wouldn't text-based dialogue detract from that? Obviously Link should remain the silent hero, but the other characters are just as important, and I feel they should be given a voice. Now, it would have to be great voice acting--mediocre voice acting would ruin the game. And maybe there could be an option to turn the voices off and add in the subtitles. But I think that, if done right, voice acting could be a really big step forward for the series.

I just needed a good reason. That's the only legit reason I can think of. It could be done right though, but after that mess that is The Faces of Evil and Zelda Wand of Gamelon, I just don't know.
Need? Not really. Would I maybe like it? Yes, if it wasn't too terribly awful. Do I like answering my own questions? You'll have to figure that out on your own.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
A great idea that would succumb to poor execution.

Like Nintendo once said, everyone has his own imagination what the characters sound like and if you hear a voice you don't like at all (like the CDI ones) it can ruin your whole game experience.

For all those who think Nintendo is incapable of hiring and directing good voice actors, go play Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Then we'll talk.
Whether or not Zelda needs it, well, it depends. I don't think the gameplay of the past few Zeldas has been interesting enough to get away with the boring, samey stories we're dealt time and again. If they make the game more exploration- and/or action-focused, I could see them continuing to get away with the silent movie approach.

Ah, remember bowser from super mario sunshine?
Ah yes, he was voiced by Foghorn Leghorn from Looney Toons as I recall.

I wouldn't mind, but I prefer it doesn't. Zelda has never had voice acting, and I hate change. If they used the voices of the people who do the grunts and all that crap, and it sounds like it fits, then fine. If they find random new people who's voice doesn't fit at all, then hell no.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
iit will only work if square inx does it and nintendo works on graphics and gamplay and story
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
