I wish Nintendo would put these in pdf on their web site so we could just download them once and not have to interrupt a game to go to the Shop Channel to read them. We could also print them out if we wanted. The stupid thing is they seem to have pdf files for most or all of the retail Wii/DS Nintendo-branded games on their site, and those games come with actual manuals -- can't imagine too many people wanting to download them unless they pirated the games, in which case it seems silly to be giving those manuals away for free. It's going to suck in the future when Nintendo no longer supports the Wii, because we'll probably have no way of accessing the Shop Channel to read the manuals anymore. Better take screenshots of anything important while you can.

it's not so stupid when you think about manuals getting lost or not being included with games you've acquired secondhand. i remember when i was little, my younger brother and sister would absolutely destroy game manuals, or one of the dogs would get it, or they'd get left out and tossed aside and we wouldn't find 'em until after moving a piece of furniture or something. also, i don't think i've gotten a single game from GameStop used where the manual was included. i know i turn in all the manuals and safety info pamphlets and stuff for games when i trade them in... why can't everyone else? :/
i do agree with the rest of your rant about having to access the Wii Shop to see the game manuals, though (DSiWare, at least, you don't have to exit the game and visit the Shop to see them; why can't WiiWare games be like that too?), lol.

[16:43] James: I should learn these site rules more clearly
[16:44] LztheBlehBird: James doesn't know the rules? For shame!!!
I think the idea of having digital instructions with the game download is a good idea, I just wish they would be more personalized (kind of like how a real instruction booklet is unique to different games).
It's not too bad. It takes you straight to the manual on the Shop Channel and straight back to the game when you're done. There's just some load times. It's no worse than going to a computer and back to read a .pdf file, especially when there's no computer in the same room and/or other family members often already using the computers like at my house. You could print them out, but if you have quite a few games, that's a lot of paper, and they could be difficult to store and/or organize.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
And VC original manuals, but just button layout changed.
