Still might not happen. It definitely won't do what Iwata hopes it'll do (get people to buy WiiWare)
However I think it'll filter out bad games and increase sales of good games though, which is good. It won't seem like a guessing game and titles like Lost Winds will get more attention because people will be able to see the difference in quality first hand with say... Real Fishing.
It won't get people who don't buy WiiWare period to buy it. That needs actual advertising outside of the system (I'm looking at you NOA!)
I hope this comes to DSiWare too cause for $%^& sakes! There's a DS Demo service on the Wii, there's no reason it shouldn't be put ON the DSi system itself.
Now that is good news, and a good idea too. If I play a game for a minute, and like what I find, I'm much more likely to DL it. I hope this for real, and if so, I hope it goes worldwide. Fingers crossed.
This is just the boost Icarian... Ehhh... NyxQuest could need... I seriously can't understand why people weren't more excited about this game, it's after all awesome. And it got great reviews too... So why? sigh
Meh, gimme VC demos. Those are the only games I really care about on the DL services, and it'd help me quash those download munchies much more efficiently than spending another $10 to download a game that catches my eye. Of course, for those of you WiiWare people, it's pretty cool news and I hope it comes to pass.
Because that means VC demos would be more likely.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Meh, ones that are of a little more legal flavor please.

People might be less gun shy of wiiware with this (especially ones afraid to download because they've "burned" by a purchase. Also a person could have a better idea of what a game is like and not necessarily feel they have to wait for a review to come out.
Fine... Just don't come complain about buying turds... Cause you're not getting any VC demos... That's for sure...
I don't complain about turds (I find them handy for slinging at people I don't like), so we're okay. Also, the last part really brightened my day. Where'd I put those cyanide pills...

This. If could try out games first it would save me a lot of time. Even 5 minutes of playtime would save on the amount of time I spend researching, because I'm not sure if a game is going to turn out to be crap or not. Not having demos really makes this whole thing untrustworthy. Yeah they made money on that first impulse buy that someone had but after being "burned" like longtimegamer said, many will take lots of steps to ensure that doesn't happen again. And if I'm still unsure how I'm going to potentially like a game I will usually pass at that point.
Demos for wiiware would be great. A lot of times you can tell if you would enjoy a game just by the general feel or flow of a game. Since wiiware is already designed to be small (unlike retail wii game) demos for wiiware would work great. People might be afraid to spend $10-$15 dollars on some unknown game from an unknown company but would have no problem trying a demo, and after trying demo and liking it would want to buy it. This will really help quality indie developers most though could help with any quirky games.
At best they could give time limited demos for VC but don't think it will happen as the service is made to mostly appeal to those looking for nostalgia.
I wonder if it's going to be a Demo Channel or do you have to download each demo? I would think a Demo Channel easyer. It would be a pain in the neck to have to download each demo to your Wii.
