I enjoyed these activies,though hugely limited in wii fit franchise I can't believe how there aren't any similar wiiware games.
Well there was snowboard riot which was mediocre, hating ski and skate games that are all about freestyle and pulling of tricks.
How about simple FAST arcade racing games with multiplayer options. The only ski/skate games seem to be either about pulling off tricks or aimed at young children and all cutesy.
Does anybody else agree that the balance boards best use is for ski, snowboard and skate games? Also that the wii need some fast arcade adrenaline ski, snowboard and skate racing games?
In this genre there is huge potential for some great multiplayer action but has gone completely unnoticed.
Several events in Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Winter Games have balance board support, and are pretty fun. But yeah, I'd like to see a dedicated board-sports game for the Balance Board.
Edit: Less sure about potential for multiplayer, though. Balance Boards are kinda expensive and you'd need a lot of space for each player. Unless you mean Wi-Fi multiplayer or turn-taking multiplayer.
Yeah the Mario and Sonic Balance Board games are really good imho. The Wii Fit Plus ones are generally either above average or really good too. I thought the RRRTV Party ones, though intially fun, got old fast. Shaun White is pretty decent I hear too. Super Monkey S&R b.board gameplay is okish in party games mode and good only in the first two or three worlds. After that, its unplayable.
Snowboard Riot's usage of the Balance Board was okay but not as good as We Ski's. RRRTVP's are great, as are MSWG. Never tried Vertigo but yes, racing games are fun with the BB. But no, I don't think they're the "BEST" usage per se. As far as I'm concerned, DDR Hottest Party 3 has one of the best uses of the Balance Board yet.
Yeh Shaun White seems to be the snowboarding game of choice for balance board owners on Wii. Maybe you should check it out, I think it recently got a sequel so it should have been quite a good game.
Well I would like a title that is like the wii fit plus and sonic/mario games but a wiiware one that has a good selection of tracks and 60fps I wan't to feel speed.
I say wiiware cus I don't think there would be enough content to fill a on-the-shelf game.
Mountain sports is getting some quite good reviews over at amazon.
Another reason I like the idea of wiiware is so they can concentrate on one area not try to put xx amount of sports in one title with very shallow gameplay.
Shaun Whites look ok but for me Im just after a straight out n out racer not pulling off tricks or some kind of exploration type game.
Other than Snowboard riot I can't think of wiiware title that uses the balance board for an arcade racing type game.
I was disappointed in wii fit plus they didn't add extra levels to the ski tracks

I would absolutely love an arcade-style snowboard/ski/skating racing game. You know, where the point is to make it to the finish line first but still be able to pull of a trick or two.
As for the cutesy graphics, I actually prefer those rather than when they try to do some realistic humans; it looks kinda gross, and I'm one of those people who play games to escape reality, not emulate it.
Ah, I c what u mean. Yes, I hope to see more balance board usage coming up on wiiware too. Tetris Party (not a racer I know) uses the balance board in an interesting way. Then there's Overturn, which isn't bad in its usage of the balance board. That's it off the top of my head.
I love the snowboard and ski racing in mario and sonic winter.... superb.
