Do other people think that you should be able to download a demo of all the games on the wii? Xbox 360 does it it can't be hard.

Of course, the do it with bogus DS titles already on the Nintendo channel, so it shouldnt be so hard to do it for actually good games for vc and wiiware too lol. But this has been asked lots before (even by me) and i know it will keep being asked in the future...meaning nintendo better start listening in

SSBB has timed demos of some VC games, which helped me decide which VC games to get

@irken004: Yeah, that helped me buy Kid Icarus and Kirby's Adventure. (Which subsequently helped me buy Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.)

I hope they do put demos up for more games.

Well, SSBB has a select few demos, but it requires a disk. That begs the question. Would you...
A. Pay for a few bucks for a disc that had around 30 demos on it?
B. Pay a subscription for monthly discs that have the month's VC and Wiiware releases on them?
C. Pay a subscription for free downloaded demos?

If Nintendo is going to offer MORE than they do now, they won't do so without hitting your piggybank, so what is the most likely path to demos?

Regarding A, Sony and Microsoft released discs full of demos for the PS2 and Xbox at a rather small cost, and they seemed to do O.K, so that could work.
Option B might work with if bundeled with a magazine like the Official Xbox magazine (I don't know if the PS3 has something similar)
Option C is insane.

@AURainman: B has to be the best example. Nintendo Power could probably send out demos, they have lots of subscribers. They did send out that DVD a few years back that had a bunch of game trailers on it..

Who cares what the other guys are doing? Why should Nintendo follow the example of its LOSING competition?!? Anyway, I'm all for game demos for WW and VC; not because the competition has it, but because it just makes sense.

Jeeepers they dont even supply trailers for most games on the nintendo channel !!! so i cant see us getting demo's !!!!!!

Yes, there should definitely be demos for WiiWare and Virtual Console games. Most of the games that I downloaded on XBLA are ones that I would have probably overlooked if it wasn't for those demos. I'm sure this would generate more sale for Nintendo and bring some much needed attention to some of those more obscure titles out there.

maybe nintendo could rent VC/WW games for a week. what ever the game costs for a purchase, rental could be a tenth of the cost. eg, nes games sell at 500 points and could rent for 50 points.

Nintendo is winning in terms of consoles sold....but in terms of software I hear the 360 and PS3 are selling better on a wider variety of games

You heard wrong, Nintendo is demolishing the competition in terms of both first-party and third-party software sales.

I'm almost certain third party software is doing better overall on 360 and PS3, unless you're talking about the Tiger Woods series. Nintendo dominates software sales for the Wii, while people tend to forget about the other types of games that are available for it.

Nope, Nintendo announced at their E3 press conference that third parties sold more software in the US in 2008 on the Wii than on any other platform, with the DS finishing in second.

I think the difference is that whilst the PS/360 has games that drop half a million units the Wii has more titles that sell in smaller numbers generally.

I think if I was a developer I'd rather have a title on the Wii that has a chance of doing 5 figures over a short initial period and a longer shelf life with further lifetime sales, than one for PS360 which might get noticed and do 6 figures quickly and then nothing, or not get noticed and go nowhere at all.
