Fellow Nintendophiles, I've been trying to decide whether or not to buy Onslaught. I'm not the biggest FPS buff but they can still be a good time. I also love classic score challenges. Reviews have been pretty mixed however, so I'm hoping some of you can shed some light on this title.

I'm not impressed with Onslaught, it's okay but reminds me of an early 90's PC FPS... especially the waves of identical enemies you are shooting, it just looks and feels so cheap, sort of like an FPS you would get in a cereal box... remember Chex Quest?
Onslaught is an arcade FPS. I know we never really saw such a beast back in the day, so think of a light gun game with free roaming and you'll get pretty close. If mindless blasting of large bug hordes with an electrowhip and bit'o'strategy thrown in for good measure sounds like fun, then Onslaught is your game.
If you're one of those prissy 360/PS3 owners who can't stand your FPS not having the most realistic graphics possible (not to mention, REAL giant crabs from ancient Japan) then you'll hate Onslaught.

And I thought I was the only one to ever play ChexQuest! Did you play 2 and 3? Look for them on a abandonware site...Great stuff!

YES! Chex Quest was amazing! I played that game all the time as a kid. It's the only game I ever played that lets me kill enemies with a spoon!
I know of the whole "still a kid" thing. I did watch youtube vids. Total headscratcher. I'm currently playing Water Warfare. Hopefully when I get around to buying Onslaught, there will still be an active online community.
