I'm not really the one to look at sales numbers except in heated fanboy arguments at school (which happen occassionally) but is the "no price cut" notion from Nintendo a key reason why sales are going down?
Discuss below and let's see where it goes! (...I keep saying that like a catch phrase.... every time i start a new topic...)
I still think (as I say this on every single thread of this nature, since we've had many) that the Wii isn't selling anymore because pretty much everyone already owns one. Even my best friend and Playstation fan knows that's true. If they do a price cut, sales may pick up again for a while, but I don't think it'll last too long, because almost everyone who wants one already bought it.
Here's a link on this situation and what Nintendo's up to, to solve this issue. I believe many of our favorite franchises are getting a sequel. Such franchises as Star Fox, Kirby, Kid Icarus, F-zero, etc.

I still disagree that everyone already owns a Wii. It's only sold 50-something million units worldwide so far, while the PS2's lifetime worldwide sales are over 150 million. Obviously, even if you account for double-purchased PS2's, more people have bought them than have bought Wii's, meaning there are PLENTY of people left to buy Wii's, especially if you account for first-time console owner Wii buyers.
The sales are, I believe, dropping partially because of the economy, and partially because Nintendo is simply running out of potential customers who are willing to pay the $250 asking price (this point has just increased in importance with recent hardware price drops from the competition). I agree with the analyst in the linked article who's calling for a price drop on the Wii. It's been nearly three years since launch...it's time for the system's FIRST price-drop already!

Considering the 360 and PS3 have had so many price cuts it only makes sense that they pick up a few sales, however I doubt they can close the gap, the wii is quite a different console, even so a price cut would help sell more wiis in the long term, most people that want one have one, but not everybody has 2 or more, ok not everyone would want 2 but people with families and those that would maybe like to use 1 for downloads and maybe another for imports, those people are much more likely to buy another if they would bring down the price.
There are NO Wii games in the Top 50 this week! - and you can fact check that!
