Topic: Wii Games You Regret Buying

I don't have any really as I try to research the titles beforehand and usually if I do punt I'm well rewarded. I'd say Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, but I did buy that knowing it could be a dud and also so I could review it for you guys so I went in with the attitude I was "taking one for the team." It helped that thanks to the retail mark-up over online I paid £24.99 for it and was able to trade it in a couple of weeks later for £22 -- not bad!

Oh and add Ookami to the list. Very disappointed in that one.

Indian Jones: I loved the films but the game annoyed me beyond comprehansion.

Red Steel: Played it for about 10 minutes, shook my head and then never again.

Oh, and I'm also thinking about trading in Skate It, once you beat Career mode it really isn't much fun.

Wow,
there are some great games listed here it's pretty shocking but I guess its a "regretted buying" thread not neccessarily a "Bad Game" thread.
I can't help mentioning, though, that Okami was an amazing game to me, especially knowing that it was made before Twilight Princess, realeased around the same time( I also thought the similarities were uncanny but a good thing since they were still very different adventures).
I also felt a little like Mario Galaxy was a little easier than I would like, but I loved it anyway and I don't regret it even though I sold it not long after.
I research my purchases pretty meticulously before hand, mostly from reviews around here or other sites and try to buy used if it's not a new release, so even stuff that's not too great I don't regret.
I only really regret Critter Roundup. Pretty bad. I hoped it would respond faster like it's inspiration Qix or GalsPanic (which is similar with a "sexy poker" feel to it, but a classic puzzle theme regardless)
The first Transformers game was pretty dissapointing, too since it had potential but was kind of broken by mapping the camera to the arm you have to waggle (? who thought that was a good idea), but, again, I bought it cheap and just traded it again somewhere.
Oh, now I remember one I really regret. Sonic and Secret Rings was horrible and I bought into hype that it "might" be the great Sonic that everyone has been waiting for. I've heard that about every sonic game ever but I've never actually played a good one (besides the thing on dreamcast). I don't understand how people ever thought any of those was better than any Mario game; they always seemed so narrow and cheesy to me.
There are so many games out now and I don't have that much time so I'm thinking I need to get gamefly again or something so I don't have to deal with any regrets since I'm pretty open to lots of the cheesy, risky low rent ones (my housemates aren't gamers at all and more likely to play cute, low rent things; cooking/gardening games with me)
anyone recommend Gamerang over Gamefly? I used to have Gamefly but the turnaround was almost 2 weeks to Chicago, and I got pretty fed up with it.

There hasn't been that many I have regretted buying, apart from excite truck and mario strikers charged i really didn't like both from day one, especially excite truck. It got really good reviews and I tried to force myself to like it but i just couldn't.

Animal Crossing
The game became old to me very quickly.

Red Steel. Having never played an FPS before, I thought I'd try my first one on the wii, thinking it would be easier and quite good fun. How wrong I was. The controls felt like they were tacked on as an after thought and really hurt my wrist having to keep the remote up at the screen and flicking the nunchuk to throw a grenade (and that only worked 50% of the time). I still can't believe this got high scores on release. Perhaps it was all the hype surrounding it.

Manhunt 2.

My GOD Manhunt 2.

I got it for Halloween because I had a room full of friends and we needed something to just get into the Halloween spirit before we were going to go over to a party and I thought, Hey! Manhunt 2 would be perfect! And it wasn't. Not even a little bit.

Seems like most of you just buy games because the covers look "cool"...

Launch day was a bit of a let down for me. I bought Red Steel and Zelda TP, two games I regretted buying. Red steel- Here we had the future of FPS gaming but when I played it the controls were just broken. FAIL. Then we had TP, I mean it's a good game and all but I wanted to be blown away and I just wasn't ,so yet again FAIL. Thank god for Wii sports that kept me busy for quite a while.

I forgot to add WE LOVE GOLF to the list I was very dissappointed with it, as I was eagerly awaiting its release being a big fan of golf games and I loved all the mario golf series and the everybody's/hotshots golf series on playstation. I just didn't like the control method and found it way too easy. I wish they had an option to change from the motion cotrols if you wished and play with the old style 3 button presses as thats the way i like these style of games to play. If you want a realistic golf swing it has to work more like real life like the way tiger woods 10 does with the motion plus, but that style of swing is not needed in these fun cartoon style games. It's a shame really because i ended up trading we love golf all because of the controls really as everything else about the game i pretty much liked. I hope when mario golf wii eventually turns up you get a choice of control stlye just in case it doesn't work well with the motion controls, thats not asking for much is it?

Has to be Call of Duty 3 - that was a crap FPS

And Fire Emblem and Pikmin were a tiny bit of a let down although an enjoyable experience

Nothing really jumps out at me as a "regret" purchase from my game library. Like many others, I do a lot of research on games before-hand. What also helps me is that I rarely buy games near there release dates so they're much cheaper. In fact, I probably purchase about 85% of my games used.

Supermarioman

I rather liked Red Steel, sorry my opinion! Got another one to add, Spore Hero, not becuase Its bad, but becuase its too expensive for my tastes for what gameplay you get, its fun and enjoyable, but not worth the full retail price.

Not really a game, but I really regret buying Wii Speak. Only two games so far that support it. I only got The Conduit and it has Wii Speak support for MP against Friends. I would have loved it when it was for ALL MP. So unless a developer is doing something great with it pretty soon, I think it's a waste of money for me. I would love it, if they could release a patch so it will work in every Mario Kart Wii game. But I don't see that happening.
