Why is little kings story rated teen? What suggestive themes does it have? anything innapropriate for a 12 year-old? (If so then DON'T tell me)

Cringing is really fun.

SuperPeach

It refers to the alcohol in it. For example one of the king is a drunk and is always drinking beer. I think that's the only reason.

ESRB, you are so very silly. People under the age of 12 know about alcohol. I have just started playing the game myself, so I have to wonder what the "suggestive themes" are. By the way, you can search ESRB.com for rating information on any game. That's how I found out.

If you are under 13 and need parental permission to play games T and up, you should have your parents look into it. I really don't see this game as inappropriate for kids so far (I've played a few hours of the game and beaten the first rival king). It is basically a fairy tale-themed Pikmin with some minor town management. If I had kids, I wouldn't hesitate to play it in front of them at any age.

Mabbit

why are you...

typing your thread titles in an annoying way where you try to get people to view it just to see what the heck its about?

also why do you say NOT to tell you if there inappropriate stuff for a 12 year old? isnt that the point of the whole thread?

I think if they marketed this point more aggressively they'd sell more games. That would be cool to see.

That reminds me...really need to pick this up in the next month or so, when I have an extra $30 lying around. It was cool to see them giving it some love on Nintendo Week...I mean, sure the show kind of annoys me since its just a 12-minute long, cringe-worthy acted, commercial...but it was still cool to see. Also, after playing XSeed's amazing Retro Game Challenge, I really want to support them more and buy another of their games.

@Briun: Well, i don't want people to tell me WHAT the suggestive themes are, but i want them to tell me IF there are any. and the reason why i put three periods (...) at the end of my sentance is because i usually don't want to ask the WHOLE question just on the topic. Does that answer all of your questions?

Cringing is really fun.

Your whole first question was only two words more than you typed as the title. I didn't want to use my WHOLE response just in one line.

You should atleast consider letting them play. lol

As others have said, the use of alcohol and other things. However, I would like to add one more.

Ferne.

That's it. Ferne. Her whole character just screams suggestive themes, not to mention some of her lines in the game.

It seems a bit OTT to rate this as a Teen upwards game, i've played through the whole game and i don't think there's anything which would obviously cause offense in the whole game. As already mentioned there is an alcohol reference, King Duvroc is clearly a drunk, but hey, plenty of films and tv shows people drinking so i didn't really think this was a big deal.
However, there is quite a bit of dark/risque humour in the game, but it's quite subtle so it's possible a child may not even pick up on some of the references.
BTW I'm assuming you're talking about the American version of the game, i'm sure (but can't check as i'm on my lunch break at work) it's only rated 7+ by PEGI. I'm aware you guys got the game sometime after us here so i don't know whether they changed much when they localised the game for America?

Sometimes the villagers say dirty things. But they are pretty buried in the game and random.
